The commentator has just given it up that Davy Russell said beforehand he’d be disappointed if Ash Tree meadow didn’t win.
    Ah us mere mortals eh!!
Anyway JONBON has been transformed into an odds against shot now and will give me a nice run for my money.
Ash Tree meadow wins a shade cheekily there never asked a major question in keeping tabs on the leader…… Nice price too. But no money banked as it is in a win double with JONBON.

    Good win double in Saturday.
Low price but both races were great advertisements for the game.
    Sha Tin
    Hong Kong Mile.

Golden sixty has had a remarkable career and is still going strong.
Drawn in stall 1 here looks almost unbeatable…
    MORE THAN THIS
    Each way
    And
    MORE THAN THIS
    Win without Golden Sixty
Is the horse who might just do that today.
A very small field of seven here and my selection has the outside stall.
More than this ran second to golden sixty last time out and also got to within a head in a previous encounter.
If the fractions are wrong there is a chance MORE THAN THIS could get very close to the champion.
Waikuku ridden by Zac Puriton has a very similar profile to the selection and has a chance too having got close to Golden Sixty but I’ve thrown my lot in with more than this

to ghost in from a wide draw against a horse who is priced at 1/8.

    BONNIE KELLIE
    1.40 Down Royal
    Gets the vote today.
Was under pressure and mounting a big challenge to the hugely gambled on Routine Elegance (28s into fav) at Naas last month but fell at the final hurdle under Philip Enright.
Turned out mid Jan to win under a young jockey and routine Excellence won again on Saturday.
Up ten pounds seems very fair given the strong showing of the franked form.
Davy Russell is the rider today and he has a good chance to follow up again here on a progressive looking young horse.

*Routine Excellence runs in the 3.10 having snuck in as a reserve and can complete a quick fire three timer under a small penalty for Gavin Cromwell.

    DIRTY MARTINI
    Ridden by Marco Ghianni.
I rarely put maidens in this area, but Dirty Martini was given a beautiful ride by the jockey last time and the penny dropped just too late to win but she wasn’t knocked about. Most jockeys would have thrown the kitchen sink at Dirty Martini to get over the line and ruined the horse’s future prospects. Ghianni gave hands and heels to coax the horse into position and despite hanging was going best of all at the end. The classy winner was also slowly away but was soon burning oil out wide, so to get to within a short head was pretty good.
Noble mark missed the break and could be seen heading for another Mark Prescott handicap snip very easily ridden after that.( Fourth last night and soon to be qualified). Dirty Martini was winning a whisker before the line and just after the line…..!! but lost on a bob of heads on the line.
With the winner already rated 77 Dirty Martini potentially looks to receive a mark over 80 if successful today and will be very hard to beat here if trained on and in the same mood.

    Lingfield 3pm.

    Kempton 4.30
AXEL JACKLIN returns I missed this one on Saturday having highlighted him last time when only narrowly beaten in a race which has thrown up more winners since. Won over six the last day, and switched up again to seven today. Won with plenty in hand and should have more time to settle and finish strongly tonight having made all on Saturday.
Connections have gone for a classified stakes again which is a suprise as he is so well handicapped.
Not sure if this one will win today but most likely to go very close again and looks a strong place bet rather than win

If I never put up another winner on this forum
Dirty Martini is the post above I’d like to be noted for.
Given another good ride by Marco Ghianni and put into the race nicely and jockey had time to constantly check on the progress of his only rival. He never once tried to force any undue effort from the young horse. Great ride again.

The big race today takes place in Ireland and a very short priced horse is taking my attention.
Sam Ewing is better known for his exploits on the dundalk all weather and no doubt he will be plying his trade there again tomorrow or whenever they run again. Today he rides bottom weight.
DOL KIER and this runner has a very low rating but it wasn’t that long ago he was beating Monkfish easily in a maiden hurdle and got up to a rating of 153. He might not have the experience needed to make an impact here but the horse is so well treated must have a chance.
    DOL KIER
    WIN

    SAM’S CHOICE
Can go close today here and is taken to land a place bet in a very competitive looking race.
DOL KIER ran a big race but not quite there sam’s choice wins the money :good:

An unusual set of win doubles here. And you only have a few minutes to get them on.
    Starts at 8.30 am
Daniel Medvedev to win his semi final.@ 4/11
    Boyne river to win 13/8

    Dundalk 1830.
    Win double.
    Aussie open semi final
Medvedev to win and serve most aces and least double faults 7/1
    Double with Boyne river 13/8
    Dundalk 1830

I’ve posted the bet here is the rationale.
I fully expect the Greek player to start very strongly against the top seed and I reckon he’ll take the first set as his main chance to get through the tie. Medvedev will have to call on all his big match experience to weather the storm and get through in four to five sets. He is the better player leading 6/2 on head to heads. He also has the chance to become the first player to win a maiden major and then back it up with a repeat win in his very next grand slam. That would be unique.
Joseph O’Brien has a tried and tested method of placing his runners in these maidens.
Medvedev runs a high risk strategy of serving first serve strength second serves and it is a ploy which throws his opponent and has paid off handsomely in the past. The bookies understandably willing to flag that risk as suckers like me are drawn like moths to light by these potential risky but attractive bets.
Boyne River. has not been seen since may. Running at a much higher level of racing has gained a rating of 83 down to 80 here and is qualified for handicaps. Has already Rated 30lbs superior to the best of these. Two placed efforts. At the very least should run in the top three.
In the tennis, I’ve explained my strategy around staking which depends on the way the game pans out in the first set over in the general sports section. If it doesn’t come off the stakes are small and I’ll go back in for Boyne River…..as the soul selection.

    DONCASTER 1245
    SKYTASTIC
    WIN

This horse is the apple of Sam Thomas’s eye.
Skytastic has won two races both bumpers the latter under a penalty.
Looks to have a real future over hurdles and hopefully will have come on physically for a break of 333 days.
Sam Twiston Davies has been replaced by Charlie Deutsch.
A line through conceroe another good bumper horse suggests he should be able to hand the challenge of both of Nicky Henderson’s horses.
The main issue here is how SKYTASTIC has schooled, he isn’t a pointer and it has to be taken on trust he is here to win and not to gain vital experience through the run.
The booking of Deutsch is the clincher.
Having won nine races in last 21 days.
    STARLYTE
    (Small place bet)
Has run well in a couple of decent bumpers and might be able to get into a place here. To make another Sam orientated observation this race was won by Sam Barton last year.

Winning pointer may be simply seeking a mark here but could go well at a big price.

    Naas
    Grade 3 novice chase
    DARREN’S HOPE
    each way
    EN BETON
    win
Willie Mullins has three in this chase
Stratum and Stattler have lofty reputations in other spheres all three have won their beginners chases but En Beton has been arguably more impressive. The way he has gone about winning his two chases has been eye catching and if he can bring that form here he could take all the beating. He is being aimed at Cheltenham’s national Hunt chase. Opposition here is very strong.
Albert Bartlett winner Vaniller sets the standard and Stattler was fourth in that contest. Stratum is a big price but preference is for En Beton. DARREN’S HOPE is a huge price and once the principals have run their race he may follow the selection home.

    ANGLER’S CRAG
    Maximum place bet.
Potentially very smart, makes English debut for new yard.
Point to point winner beating subsequent winners all ends up.
Latest third in bumper to the progressive Flame Bearer has just been franked.
3rd to Kilcruit in a bumper.
    5 th to Sir Gerhard.
Wind surgery and continued headgear likely to bring about further progress. 325 day break to overcome, but likely ready with plenty of winning form in the book.

Yes that was a good one.
I watched Flame Bearer win in some style the other day. A quick look through Anglers Crag’s CV confirmed it’s chances. I don’t think Dubrovnik Harry lost anything in defeat.
