Here’s a few of So You Think’s victories in Austrailia that I found on You Tube:

He really looked impressive on his return run in Ireland and it’ll be fascinating to see how he gets on against Workforce.

i’m no fan of comparing times, but if you must.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_of_Wales’s_Stakes

You’ll find all the winning times of that there.

Now here’s 3 races of almost identical distance (about 12-20meters difference) of so you think.

You simply can’t compare bare times over different tracks. Even comparing times clocked on different days at the same track is dangerous.
It will be hard to find ratings across Australia and Europe outside of Timeform and the international handicappers, who both don’t do such a great job in my opinion. You’d likely have to find an independent source or organization.

Hi AdmiraloftheFleet, love to hear people talking of their parents,so many whine about them.My great great grandfather came from a well known sailing family in Kellough Co.Down,N. Ireland.Adair was his name.He sailed with Admiral Lord Nelson. He was one of the captains aboard the Victory. Now that we in Southern Ireland have finally made peace with the Crown I can reclaim my heritage.Your pen name drew me.I suppose this conversation should take place in the lounge but whatever!

Thanks Andy, I am from Scotland and we have had our own issues with the Crown over the years or should I say we still do after the recent election swing!

My name was a combination of my affection for the wee OBrien horse Admiralofthefleet and a love of all things Navy, particularly the prestige and honour of the Battle of Trafalgar and the great Sir Francis Drake in the magnificent defeat of the Spanish Armada

In fact we started a theme of naming our horses after famous ships of the line and so far we have had Dauntless and Bellerophon. Next one I shall call Indefatigable, definitely going to be a mare as they really are all heart!

Interesting comments yesterday from Aidan O’Brien re- Cox Plate possibility for So You Think.

That seemed strange, why bring him over here to campaign him and then send him back? If you wanted to win a third Cox Plate wouldn’t you have just left him where he was?

Apparently cormack it was part of the deal when they bought him that he should run in the Cox Plate, so would make sense if that was the case.

Makes perfect sense he could start covering this Winter down in Australia.

I would say that that plan only emerged after being beaten at Ascot. It was probably part of the Wednesday discussion."If he loses we go back to Australia with him."

Somehow I think a maiden arc or breeders cup may look a tad better than a 3rd cox plate. On the other hand, if they genuinely think he won’t see out 12F then maybe it’s a chance.

If they are considering a third Cox plate then connections seemed to have forgotten Australian quarantine laws. According to RP they want a crack at the Arc and Breeder’s Cup and the Cox plate would deny Think that. :!:

Old Aidan playing ducks and drakes I think. What point to run in Cox Plate when he’s won 2, the whole point of the exercise to take him to Europe was to make him an attractive dual hemisphere sire. I personally think he can win the Arc (if ridden correctly) but the Juddmonte would be the summer target. Coolmore has St Nicholas Abbey for the King George. Reckon Irish Tattersalls Gold Cup, Eclipse Stakes, Juddmonte International and Arc would be impressive on his CV with his 2 Cox Plates in Australia. No point in the Breeders Cup, think its overrated. What would they run him in at Churchill Downs?? Breeders Cup mile on grass or Breeders Cup Turf over mile and a half??

He was brought over to promote High Chaparral who has been disappointing at stud so far.

Await The Dawn would appear to be Coolmore’s Breeders Cup horse and they already have Pour Moi and St Nicholas Abbey for Longchamp so it probably makes sense to send So You Think back Down Under.

I must pick Imperial Call up on High Chaparral…he has been disappointing in Europe but down under he is a hit and stands for nearly double his European fee.

European horse racing seems far too dominated by particular stables/owners to me. Surely the best race to see would be all the best horses races against each other. I’m not saying it works perfectly like this in aussie, but jesus christ some of this stuff over here just seem ridiculous.

Hence the reason for bringing SYT here to promote him.

    Promote him??

Fair enough but any boost will only be a temporary one. They are dual purposing him too i think most Commercial breeders won’t use High Chap because he is too much of a risk. So You Think on the other hand will get a good book of mares because he is such a good lucking horse he will sell incredibly well at the sales even if they turn out to be no good. I fairly confident High Chap goose is cooked in Europe even with SO You Think. Coolmore have no faith in him and you struggle to find one of his progeny in Ballydoyle bar obviously the one Great Horse he has got in SYT.

So You Think I would imagine on the other hand will be well supported by Coolmore mare’s intially and then we will see where he goes from their. No one can tell how good he be as a sire but he ticks all the boxes so far in term of physical attributes and should be a hit in Europe and down under with the Breeders.
