Will post a few lays up.
4.40 Lakeshore Lady. I feel the ground is against this one. A lay at 2.74.
April 12, 2017 at 17:56 #12965646.00 Yulong Xiongim. Drop in trip is a negative. Lay at 2.68
April 12, 2017 at 18:05 #1296569Good luck Slowhand
April 13, 2017 at 13:27 #1296636Thanks VTC., thanks for taking an interest.
Mixed fortunes with the first two, but most of these will be around the 3/1 or less point in the betting, so some are going to win, when none of them do, I will be on an island somewhere and forums won’t be a priority

Today the strongest lay I can see is Saffron Prince at Towcester (3.50). Quite a few slight negatives, decent ground, Right Handed, Galloping Track.
Enough niggles in each area to make a horse priced at about 2.78 worth taking on.
April 13, 2017 at 13:57 #1296637I don’t very often lay in Novice Hurdles but one today has plenty of form in the book with a number of negatives. 2.00 Ravens Hill. A lay at 4.3.
April 13, 2017 at 16:36 #1296643Some Finish in the 4.50 is a poor price in this, would prefer softer ground. A lay at 3.55.
April 14, 2017 at 17:11 #1296736You’re welcome slowhand.
I only do the occasional lays, and very happy to have a 100% record (sort of aftertiming I know), but over the years, it works out only 3 or 4 a season. I’ll regularly lay horses I’ve already bet, but very rarely will I lay horses in cold blood, as I just don’t have the nerve for it. Much easier when it’s one you’ve already bet.
Cue Card in this years Gold Cup was my “biggest” lay of the season, I had him down as 20-1 shot at least, but even that was off of a green book, and I was still sh1tting it, and the amount I actually laid him for didn’t reflect how little chance I gave him. Same on Saturday morning there, I had another look at The Last Samuri, and quickly decided he had little chance, but I just didn’t have the balls to lay him at around 16’s. Different Gravey in the Fontwell race won by Camping Ground, he was another one. A very short price, and I had him as the outsider of the field, but could only lay him for a few quid.
I’d love to give it a proper try, maybe just on paper to start off though.
Take my hat off to anyone giving it a proper go, more of a man than me, so good luck
April 14, 2017 at 17:35 #1296742Hi VTC
Laying over jumps is my favourite area really. The obvious dannger of that was shown in that last race yesterday, a 3 horse race and one takes another out leaving the one you laid, ouch.
I really try to avoid 3 horse races, and even 4 ones to be honest, but still get drawn in.
I’ve been laying short ones for a couple of years now, I eek out a steady profit, nothing special.
I had nothing to lay today, tomorrow will have something, not many days do I get a blank one.
April 16, 2017 at 14:05 #12970192.35 Remember Forever has had a few tries at this track and disappoints. A lay at 4.4
April 20, 2017 at 13:55 #1297505Poor start but over a longer period I hope to show a profit as has been the case, short periods mean little. Today I have spotted two lays that look strong.
2.05 Cheltenham. Verdana Blue a lay at 3.15. Has two strong opponents here who look more likely to win.
2.15 Ripon. Maggies Angel a lay at 3.10. First time out fillies from this sire are 0 wins from 54 attempts. - AuthorPosts
