Took a very heavy fall at the 3rd fence in the 4:55 at Navan. The final fence had to be omitted and the horse was hidden behind screens.
Very sad to see another horse dying that started his chasing career at the age of ten an only ran in three previous chases, being beaten 20, 35 and 44 lengths.
I really wonder why this has to happen. But no one ever seems to express his concern, so maybe this is the right thing to have a 10-year old embarking on a new career over fences.
How many times would you see a proper NH trainer like Paul Nicholls do this?
We all know the answer.
That is so terribly sad and I totally agree, it makes you feel angry and also helpless as it sadly will happen again. you’d think they would have got the message that the horse didn’t want to race, sadly the horse has no say in the matter his fate is sealed.
RIP beautiful Silver Friend at peace at last.
