Segments of the racing community have taken it upon themselves to raise the collective eyebrow of suspicion since the recent steroid scandal. I think i should contribute to the mobs suspicion and highlight Cirrus Des Aigles. Now obviously we can’t say a horse has taken steroids when it simply hasn’t been proven. However, this horse who doesn’t have the pedigree you would usually associate with a horse of his great achievemnt, was last season found to have massive ammounts of a banned anti-inflmatory drug in him. Now obviously the trainer knew absolutely nothing about this, that goes without saying. We all know someone breaks into yards to to give horses huge ammounts of banned anti-inflamatory drugs. If the game has to be cleaned up as many wish to happen, should the BHA have the authority to randomly test horses who intend to run here, yet who may not be based in England. Perhaps they wouldn’t want this, as we can’t have good old Ascot being effected negatively by over seas horses not coming over due to tighter drug regulations ?
