Well, I still don’t know why Nicky was so keen of running Jonbon in this race.
November 14, 2025 at 15:01 #1744468Well done ERL, a good ride to take the initiative and what a good horse, put in some lovely jumps

November 14, 2025 at 15:03 #1744471Thanks green, but I still find it difficult to rate the form. Too bad Libberty Hunter unseated and Jonbon looked very slow at some obstacles. The winning distance actually flatters him.
Ty wilts and sarge
November 14, 2025 at 15:03 #1744472Jonbon run a shocker mind you Fitzy said just before the off the stables were needing the run either that or I jinxed him putting him in my ten to follow.
The more I know the less I understand.
November 14, 2025 at 15:04 #1744473I didn’t have a bet in the race but have been keeping an eye on de Boinville since his comeback.
Guys finished imo and should’ve retired after that bad injury. He was actually finished even before that.
How could anyone have confidence in any of Hendersons big guns this season with that man on board.

They had to really its normal. He’s won them before as a prep before the Tingle Creek. And Mcmanus has others for the longer distances.
November 14, 2025 at 15:09 #1744475Stand by for the now going up in trip with Jonbon angle…….winner was very good but he was also very good in the run up to the Festival last season before being slightly underwhelming in the Arkle.
Need to see how he goes against the better rivals when they actually show up on the day (unlike Jonbon today) and you would expect that that test will come in the Tingle Creek (assuming that is his next port of call).
November 14, 2025 at 15:09 #1744476Mike, even though the opposition was manageable, the ground deteriorated quite badly in the last hour or so. I’m none the wiser for his reappearance except for the fact that he’s still good for a few bad jumps.
November 14, 2025 at 15:14 #1744478” I still find it difficult to rate the form”
Agreed. All we know is that Jonbon has not run to his best, Mateta nearly came down and Edwardstone is over the hill.

They needed to get a run into him before the Tingle Creek, not enough time to go anywhere else. Clearly needed it more than other years being a year older on the ground (and 1st time after a wind op). Henderson on TV just said his horses are about a fortnight behind fitness wise.
November 14, 2025 at 15:21 #1744481Okay, I don’t think they’re the only stable being two weeks behind schedule. There is also no other proper G1 target for him around Christmas, but would you consider backing him at 20/1 for either the CC or the Ryanair?
November 14, 2025 at 15:28 #1744484Do none of the races between now and March count?
November 14, 2025 at 15:29 #1744485“but would you consider backing him at 20/1 for either the CC or the Ryanair?”
Unlikely, but that is because i am generally against horses who get to 10 years old come the Festival in the grade 1s.
November 14, 2025 at 15:30 #1744486Seems not the first thing Alice said to Skelton was the Champion Chase.
The more I know the less I understand.
November 14, 2025 at 15:44 #1744489Sad, isn’t it?
(Alice, Alice, who the **** is Alice?)
