I know Afsoun often wears ear plugs in the preliminaries and going down to start, but anyone know if he has worn them in a race?
I believe not.
Sometimes Afsoun finds little under pressure, thought this might have more to do with hearing the crowd than anything else. Wearing ear plugs in the race could stop this. Exotic Dancer was transformed when wearing ear plugs.Value Is EverythingFebruary 5, 2008 at 18:31 #140437What makes you so sure earplugs are what transformed Exotic Dancer? It’s as easy to argue that he started to progress once fitted with cheekpieces.
February 5, 2008 at 18:35 #140438And I’d heard he’d redesigned his box using several basic Feng Shui principals he’d learnt at an evening class…

Could be either David, nobody knows for sure. But it is some coincidence if it did not have some effect. I am convinced (whether ED was effected by them or not) some horses idle not because they are in front, but because they hear the crowd and it frightens or distracts them. Not saying it will definately do the trick with Afsoun, but it might.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 5, 2008 at 20:45 #140460Ginge, IIRC I overheard the channel 4 team (or an interviewee thereof) on Saturday commenting that Afsoun has been tried with earplugs in the past.

I’ve got one of Captain Becher’s galoshes, which he was fortuitously wearing the first time he fell into a certain Aintree Brook. I found it when I was diving for pennies there to amuse tourists about thirty years ago. I’m open to reasonable offers. All enquiries to:
