SP 11/10 Smirfy’s Systems available on Betfair at 3.2+
February 13, 2009 at 23:07 #210018Sean Boyce was very critical of the SP on ATR, said he couldn’t see how it could go off so short in a race like that, maybe Lord Donoughue will look into the matter
February 13, 2009 at 23:22 #210020Hello,
Dear, Dear me…

Wolverhampton, and probably all ALL WEATHER was created for the bookies, and you actually calculate losses?
The starting price issue, bent jockeys/trainers /owners are well covered through out the forum…so get over it!!

doyley

I will take the 1/2 now, I reckon it will be sent off a lot shorter :p

Isn’t he supposed to be at Wolverhampton today
February 14, 2009 at 15:45 #210116THEY planned this in the Kempton lifts last Saturday.
The valentine’s evening at Wolver was selling out and threatened to impact on the trilaterals’ ability to write their own SPs there.
Rule one of all-weather racing – the stands must be empty!
The heist was planned with military precision. The meeting was to be moved to the afternoon to ensure maximum ill-gotten gains for the trilaterals. The relevant memebers of the press and TV were in that lift to and they gave assurances that this most brazen of thefts would not be mentioned and Big Mac would be relieved of his Morning Line duties today.
THEY have the game by the niagaras and got the lot yesterday.
February 14, 2009 at 22:27 #210241I went to Wolverhampton on a August Friday four years ago. There were five bookmakers on duty, and one of them packed up half way through the meeting because it coulbn’t take enough bets. It’s hardly a surprise that the SPs are so dreadful on a chilly Friday in February.
It’s BAHS instead of BAGS.
February 15, 2009 at 05:17 #210308I cannot see the point of this perrenial anti-Wolverhampton theme thread that several members on this forum seem to delight in dishing out several times a month.
Surely it cannot be a gesture of sympathy towards those "mug-punters in the shops" who bet at SP and also receive regular slaggings from the "sharper brains" on here?
Certainly, nobody in the ring at Wolver, except the very slow, or, the very sure, bet at SP, and the likelihood is that any shop punter, who fancied that horse, got on at the early shop price of 9/2.
Can’t you change the record to something original like moaning about the weather ?
February 15, 2009 at 05:22 #210309Btw, whatever happened to Fist of Fury? Why has he taken a sabbatical?
I must have missed a few chapters, I think.February 15, 2009 at 05:24 #210310well said Sean, though they’ll not change, they can’t
February 15, 2009 at 13:21 #210320Thing is though , that is why this forum exists , its a collection of all sorts , and heaven help us if that ever changes , personally I love the lift theory , its crazy of course , and probably wont hapen (this week

.. piss-poor prices for piss-poor punters.
If people insist in betting in shops then it’s very much a case of Buyer Beware, you heard it hear first?
February 16, 2009 at 02:33 #210467Still I can’t quite follow the aim of that, Dave, I’m afraid:
Betting shop folk, who fund the levy, taking 9/2 early about a gambled easy winner, can’t be all bad, can it?

Certainly, it did me no harm, so I’m not complaining, even though my own selection in the race was feeble.
February 16, 2009 at 02:46 #210468and the likelihood is that any shop punter, who fancied that horse, got on at the early shop price of 9/2.
If they all got on at 9/2, trilateral reps certainly wouldn’t have been taking 6/4 in the Wolver ring, when 5/2 was available on the machine.
So I’d say you were wide of the mark there.
February 17, 2009 at 04:33 #210659Glenn,
You don’t me to tell you that "ALL" never do anything in the world of gambling.

The game wouldn’t work like that.
