Both sadly lost in the same race at Lingfield today.

    RIP

Lingfield seems to be getting a bad record this year. Hope they are looking into it properly and not just shrugging off with “one of those things” or “that’s racing” complacency. Poor surface has already been mentioned on this forum. Could well be a tragic coincidence but… RIP Secret Stategy & Yorkee Mo Sabee (and Bobby Benton)

Dreadful news to read this morning and no mention in the Results section of Racing Post of the fate of either of these two young horses. :-( You just don’t expect this sort of thing to be happening on the flat and there should definitely be an enquiry into the state of the track.

    RIP Secret Strategy
    RIP Yorkee Mo Sabee

Thoughts with all connections who could never have dreamed that this could happen when they set out full of hopes and dreams.

For the safety of all future runners everything must be done to ensure that the track is fit for purpose, this shouldn’t be happening on the flat as often as it does.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...

7 “official” fatalities in the past three months is quite a high number for such an easy surface and especially for Flat races.

I didn’t realize that Secret Strategy was injured at all, but I guess it was discovered after the race.

RIP to both of them and also to Bobby Benton

Poor lad Yorkee Mo Sabee’s off-fore pastern broke, the hoof was hanging off and flopping about. The young jockey lad was slow dismounting. The horse was running on the stump of his cannon bone. Likely a bad step on that awful surface that doesn’t appear to be holding up to much racing. The bends are too sharp and the fields bunch. Running 6 furlongs on this course mostly on the turn all tight together is poor welfare and two dead horses from this race is a pointer to this. BHA ‘horse comes first’ promo – load of shite.
