Just a quick tip –  horses that have been placed 2nd on their last three outings do very well next time out.
On all evidence I have seen they surprass horses who have completed a hat trick of wins when going for the four timer. Though this was confined to turf racing I’m sure the merits of highlighting consistent reliable performers like those stated could well pay dividends.
