Only officially retired 3 weeks ago and has died suddenly of a suspected heart attack. R.I.P.
April 14, 2017 at 17:10 #1296735Happens sometimes, but still very sad news. RIP.

Was fine at 7am, when they went to feed them at 8.30am Seabass had gone.

April 14, 2017 at 17:35 #1296741One of my favourite horses ever, and absolutely gutted to hear he’s gone.
He was absolutely dynamite that 2011-12 season, culminating in that great effort in The National. It was the rest of that season though, where I’ll really remember him. Swept everything before him, didn’t matter the trip or opposition, and to this day I’ll never understand why he didn’t get an entry in that seasons Gold Cup. He was miles the best chaser that year, and there was nothing in the field that year that would have got near him.
He wasn’t quite the same horse after that, but he still managed to come out last year and win at silly odds.
Smashing horse, and I owe him plenty
April 14, 2017 at 19:03 #1296753Really sad news to go so suddenly after his retirement.
RIP dear Seabass
So many good horses gone this year.
Always remembered
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 16, 2017 at 02:25 #1296975Really sad to hear this, I loved the horse and made plenty of noise about him before
his valiant attempt in his first National. He always gave his all and I’ll always have
fond memories of him. Commiserations to all his connections. - AuthorPosts
