    b) is much easier to follow than a). I think that’s a lot of the problem.

    Just my opinion, but any rating that depends on Fame And Glory being a 135 horse has to be fundamentally flawed, no matter how sophisticated the measurement.
    Mastercraftsman didn’t last home in the Irish Champion (AOB’s opinion too) and Grand Ducal was run as nothing more than a spoiler. Nothing FAG has achieved, before or since that race, would put him anywhere near deserving such a mark.
