Gonna go for Idle Talk, and stick it in exacta and trifecta with Out The Black, and Razor Royale as well!
April 17, 2010 at 14:40 #290810Job done.
That now means the last four winners have had previous wins over 3m 7f and further.
Presenting fails yet again and Razor Royale’s Strong Gale influence meant that he just couldn’t go through with his effort.
April 17, 2010 at 14:45 #290811Well done to Big Buck’s, Kendal Cavalier being handy with the blunderbuss, Rob, Moe, and any other winners. Aah, what might have been a week ago . . .
Going to throw a bit of gratuitous aftertiming in – I think I’ve just backed the Greenham winner for the first time ever! At this rate, my next one will be due in about 2057.
April 17, 2010 at 14:53 #290815GET IN
April 17, 2010 at 15:17 #290822Did Superior Wisdom get brought down? So frustrating not to know how he would have done had he stood up. So relieved to get 1st and 3rd, as my confidence took a huge knock last week. Hope all the horses are ok.

April 17, 2010 at 20:13 #290870. . . he [Merigo] was going to run in the Welsh National but was snowed in
I didn’t know that. I’ll take the weather forecast into account when betting ante post in future Welsh Nationals. I didn’t understand at the time why he wasn’t a runner.
Maybe that is why Howard Johnson keeps on removing his horses from the Welsh National . . . Abbeybraney in 2008, and Companero in 2009 . . .
April 17, 2010 at 20:14 #290871Well done to those who flagged up the ew prospects of No Panic. Ran a huge race. And well done to his co-owner who is a regular here..
April 20, 2010 at 10:27 #291306Scots Dragoon is a half brother to Scots Grey; does anyone know what sort of distance he ran over? I know he took Scots Grey up to Kelso a couple of years ago, and I’m pretty sure he won, but I’m not sure of the distance.I just never think of Nicky Henderson as a trainer of staying chasers.
Just noticed this but my Ballycassidy beat Scots Grey at Kelso in the race your mentioned.
April 20, 2010 at 20:21 #291386Were you there that day? It was lovely to see Ballycassidy; he looked half asleep in the paddock..as soon as the race was over we rushed straight to the winners enclosure to see him. Was it the last time he won a race? Is he still enjoying his retirement?
April 23, 2010 at 06:52 #291853Thanks for your interest
Yes I was there, and really enjoyed the day. Always a nice spread put on by the Duke of Roxburgh in the owners room, and a nice bag of carrots for the winner.Shared the room with Nicky Henderson . We had a bloody good drink before, during and after the race.
Bally is safe home now at Peter Bowens. We gave him to Micky,Peter and Karen`s eldest son. He rides him as a hack and teaches the younger horses how to jump.
Think you can see him on http://www.peterbowenracing.com/April 23, 2010 at 07:09 #291855Forgot to mention Moe that one of our other horses, Quattrocento ,beat Scots Dragoon in a beginners last season. Hope to run him in the Durham Nat next week.
May 1, 2010 at 15:36 #293333Hoping that the Auroras Encore backers noticed he was running this afternoon. I only noticed myself 5-10 minutes before the off.
