My Silver Lining is ultra consistent and super likable. I’m amazed she’s 16/1.

Secret Reprieve is really interesting at a big price.

One that keeps drawing my eye at the top of the weights is Stay Away Fay. Putting a line through Cheltenham as there was plenty amiss that day. He’s a classy animal who held a Gold Cup entry, so they clearly see something in him. I have a feeling he’s going to be campaigned with the National in mind next season, and he’d be very much of interest to me there. I think he could have a big say here with all concerned seeking trainer/jockey titles.

MacDermott drifted out quite a bit. Big enough for me to back him. Could be anyhting based on that last run. Also like Anglers Crag after winning the Eider dispite that jumping error. Must have some room for improvement. Finally I like to add Surrey Quest. Looks a real stayer to me and has been quite impressive since he left Nicky Henderson. Still on a interesting mark I Think.

    MacDermott 12/1
    Anglers Crag 12/1
    Surrey Quest 40/1 EW

Horses that have done well on nice ground have won the chases so far.

That was a proper National that still resembled the Scottish National from the 1970s.
