Nine De Sivola for me.
Already proven over c/d and on fast ground, ran his best race for 2 years when coming from a mile back in the National Hunt Chase, and should certainly reverse placings with Tricky Trickster on this ground and at these weights. Has first-time cheekpieces and G Lee back on board to sharpen him up, and bad luck apart, it’s hard to see him out of the first 4.April 17, 2009 at 23:30 #222367(11-12) Made all, shaken up 3 out, went clear 2 out, driven out flat, won at Wincanton 3m 3f hcp chs 0-130 (3) gd beating College Ace (11-5) by 5l, 7 ran.
That’s Hello Bud’s last run. It’s now down a stone and 3lbs.
After watching and waiting and mentioning him here a few times good old NTD did me a favour yesterday with Made in Japan @ 33/1. This Hello Bud will finish like The Flying Scotsman pulling a cart. If it doesn’t then I demand a dope test. Yes, maybe I’m the dope but then I do seem to recall having had a little touch on Mon Mome in the National.
Good Luck whatever you back.
KenApril 17, 2009 at 23:56 #222370Bit concerned about the cheekpieces on Nine de Sivola. However, I’m sticking with him, Chiaro, Gone to Lunch and Sea Diva and determined not to go to the bookies tomorrow..however I’m working in the morning just across the road from one. A lot of support for West End Rocker, but I’ve looked at a few of his races and his jumping looks awful. Merigo looks to be drifting slightly.NTD’s horses are flying again. Just hope loads of horses don’t pull out and we get first 3 places again. I just keep thinking of that race at Aintree when I didn’t back The Chief [was kept late at work]..it still haunts me.
April 18, 2009 at 00:46 #222385I’ll go for King Barry @ 22-1 and a little saver on Out the black at 18-1.

With regard to West End Rocker, is Alan King’s form not a bit of a worry? He’s had a handful of winners over the last fortnight, two at long odds-on, but the performances of some of his other fancied runners has been woeful (the 7/1 about Snap Tie in the Champion Hurdle is somewhat generous in light of Medermit’s position as favourite).

Excellent card at Ayr today but very tough racing.
Coe was stepped up in trip this season and immediately he showed improved form.
Both his races were on very soft ground but he goes on good ground and this 4 miles could be just what he needs.
This galloping flat track will suit him a lot more than Cheltenham did.
Huge price at 25/1 for a horse who started 9/2 fav when finishing 2nd to Rambling Minster
Could be a good day for Ritchie as Nevertika in the next is supposidly in very good form after a long rest. He was really disappointing at Haydock when backed heavily in the morning ending up fav when tailed off behind United. Doesn’t look a good race and could be a decent price early doors.
2 ew singles and an Ew double should win just about enough to buy William Hills and re open carvs account
So when those two get stuffed I’ll be hoping Fresh Air and Fun or Leslingtaylor can save the day
April 18, 2009 at 12:49 #222443I hope Chief Dan George wins.
Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning
April 18, 2009 at 13:12 #222453Obviously Chiaro has had the best preperation winning the
Hereford National
April 18, 2009 at 13:19 #222454It might be because I am trying to convince myself that I was right to write off the chances of Thats Rhythm from the outset but I can’t quite fathom why Pricewise has gone for this one, much like I couldn’t understand his Grand National selections.
Has only run four times over fences (and he’s nine remember) and I can’t recall a previous winner having had so few previous runs (Captain Dibble had six I believe).
He has twice run in races with 16 runners and over and finished unplaced in a NHF race and PU over hurdles. His only win over fences came against only four other rivals so to me there’s not a lot going for him.
God, I hope I’m right!
Plus, is Presenting becoming the new Strong Gale?
April 18, 2009 at 14:11 #222469Another bookmakers benefit so happy to play the bookmaker again today. With the ground described as the upper end of good and drying that has to be massively against the favourite. Also his record with 11 or more runners in the race is 0-22! Lord Americos stats over 4m+ don’t inspire either
8/1 looks very short in such a big race, lay Chief Dan George.
April 18, 2009 at 15:03 #222476Knew I’d fall to temptation; had ew on Merigo [nrnb] in case he runs and small ew on L’Aventure and topped up my bet on Sea Diva.
April 18, 2009 at 16:05 #222489My own odds line isn’t that far removed from the exchange odds, so I’ve just got Sea Diva and Dear Villez running for me.
This is as good a renewal of the race as there has been for a fair time, and I’d give a solid chance to two thirds of the field.

April 18, 2009 at 16:17 #222492Merigo’s out so must be plenty fast enough at Ayr.
April 18, 2009 at 17:27 #222504This is not an Ante-post race the King likes to get stuck into, but because
its the Scottish National i shall be speculating, the horse that i have been
keeping an eye on this season is "Coe" more of a monkey than a horse
and he cant jump for toffee, but what i like about his chances today is that
Ayr is a relatively flat track and he should get the 4m easier there than at
Cheltenham, where he fell when looking like he didn"If Richard Mcgrath
can get him into a rhythm i hope to get a run at 25/1!April 18, 2009 at 18:44 #222514My penance is paid; shall now hibernate for the summer…..
April 18, 2009 at 18:50 #222516Before you go moehat –
Remember to put in your notebook yet another three Presenting’s fail (I know Out The Black got 3rd but he didn’t get home) to stay four miles – all there with chances. Lord Americo’s fail to stay yet again and Accordion’s woeful record continues. Pedigree is a good thing to follow in these races!
Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!! On at 52’s.
April 18, 2009 at 19:05 #222518Will actually watch the race now [properly without my hands over my eyes!]. At least the horses that I didn’t fancy at all didn’t win, and Nine de Sivola was very disappointing. Really thought Gone to Lunch was going to get there. So much for improving 11 year olds….! actually won’t hibernate till after the Whitbread, and even then will still come out after dark! Congratulations, anyway! [goes away beating herself around the head…..]
