Recent big race winners Benson, and Faivoir jump right out here, and I’m pleasantly surprised to see Faivoir only getting a 5lb hike for his County win.
He’s likely to be bet in some shape or form with Benson (who was poor at Cheltenham), but the most appealing Antepost price is the 20’s for Soaring Glory. He’s surely got something like this in him again, and I took some encouragement from his Newbury run. No bet just now, but he’s my #1 at this stage
Benson
Faivoir
Soaring GloryApril 16, 2023 at 16:43 #1644098I’m really keen on First Street here at 20-1, so I’ve taken that.
The other two that I like are Onemorefortheroad on his run last year, and Highway One O Two on his Cheltenham run
April 18, 2023 at 00:12 #1644328Soaring Glory still the standout for me here, but completely missed the 20’s, so as tempting as the 12’s is, and with a very dry looking week ahead, no option but to wait now till Thursday
April 20, 2023 at 11:30 #1644658Highway one o two @ 14/1
Every time this horse runs he goes off a daft price for some reason, he is the same price as he was ante post and half the field are now not running. Ran a cracker in the county hurdle i thought and had Anna Bunina behind him so just on that alone it’s a nice price. Possibly a flatter track should be a positive as well.
April 20, 2023 at 15:17 #1644692It is possible the horse has just had enough of the game but I’m not so sure and if Milkwood was trained by Dan Skelton we’d all be screaming handicap plot, one of the most obvious I think I’ve seen this season. His run first time up behind Effernock Fizz gives me hope he’s not gone and that came off 10lbs higher and then since that he’s ran in three races he could not possibly win in my opinion to get his mark down. The more the ground dries out the better his chances are. I thought Anna Bunina had an obvious enough chance, she’s having a solid season and loves this race but last season Milkwood gave her 20lbs and this season she’s only getting 1lb after the jockey’s claim. The season before he battered her in this without coming off the bridle. Neil Mulholland is pretty shrewd himself, I’m sure this has been the main aim all season.
April 20, 2023 at 17:19 #1644708Milkwood, for me, as well. The ‘vibes’ are good
April 20, 2023 at 18:34 #1644711Very close on my figures but Rubaud top by a pound, generally progressive (raced too freely when hled in the Betfair Hurdle) and lightly raced. The sort I look for in this race.
April 20, 2023 at 18:35 #1644712Anna Bunina for me around the 9/1 mark. She’s got more on her plate here, but her run at Cheltenham was very encouraging and there’s maybe a chance that this has actually been her priority all season
April 20, 2023 at 22:27 #1644741After missing the 20’s, I didn’t get the 12’s either, so kicking off with 13-2 on Soaring Glory. If he goes bigger I’ll chip away at him.
Soaring Glory 13-2

April 21, 2023 at 21:47 #1644854With Onemorefortheroad not being declared, it was an easy decision for me too add Highway One O Two at 14-1. I’m happy with him and First Street
April 22, 2023 at 09:36 #1644901Milkwood is a former winner and should get his ground here. Back to a winnable mark.
Milkwood 12/1

Wd Rob for picking it out as well.
April 22, 2023 at 15:41 #1645011Thanks, Mike. I didn’t try to complicate this one, just a lightly raced progressive sort. Athletic and will make a decent chaser.
