    Entries out…..

    https://www.racingpost.com/racecards/3/ayr/2019-04-13/724162

    https://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/ante-post-racing/national-hunt/scottish-champion-hurdle/winner

Hard to take a particularly strong view here, as most of the field could quite easily have options at Aintree. Very much just a quick look right now, and bar the obvious ones from the yards of Nicholls, and Henderson, these are the ones who immediately catch the eye……

Captain Moirette – Going completely the right way, and this is the race that sprung to mind after his Haydock win. Represents last years winning connections, and this has surely been the plan for some time. Dark horse, but I’d give him a serious chance 16’s

Ch’Tibello – Always been a fan of this horse, betting him several times. I, of course, didn’t bet him at Cheltehnam, and called myself a few names afterwards. Smashing horse who shouldn’t find the rise in the weights that prohibitive, and an obvious player 10’s

Keyboard Gangster – He won’t be the most obvious, and isn’t always that keen to get going, and might not get his ground anyway, but I just like him. He’s the horse I wanted to see get an entry, for all he’s a loud one, and I just think that he’s the type of horse to surprise. Blew his chance at the start when last seen, but he eventually ran ok, over a trip over his optimum, and interesting off of a break 50’s

Nube Negra – Stablemate of Ch’Tibello, and very much one to consider. No chance when being brought down on his penultimate start, and he shaped very well last week at Newbury, perhaps being entitled to be even closer at the finish. Getting brought along nicely, and perhaps one of those who’s had this as the seasons goal. I’d actually favour him just ahead of Ch’tibello 16’s

Project Bluebook – This is the horse I didn’t want to see in there, but I was aware that I might be faced with the prospect of him lining up. He’s fell miles short of what I had hoped for him, but from a yard who really target this race, he was always going to make my shortlist. Not seen over hurdles since Galway, he was, again, disappointing on the flat, but if there was a race I could pick for him, it would be The Scottish Champion Hurdle 33’s

Seddon – Loved this horse when I seen him at Musselburgh last year, and he went on to shape very well in The Champion Bumper. Only a shade disappointing over hurdles since, and this looks an ideal opportunity for him, as he’s a horse with bags of potential, and conditions more than likely will suit. Overpriced 25’s

Pingshou and Western Ryder are another pair who have the ability, and are worth a mention, and both could easily surprise here at their best, but this race already looks messy for me.

Captain Moirette and Nube Negra look very appealing at 16’s, and they would be my main fancies right now with my sensible head on, but I also have Project Bluebook to consider. I’ll watch the three of them in the market, and try to hold firm until Final Decs.

The one I will back early, though I’m hoping for 66’s, is Keyboard Gangster. He’s hard to justify really, considering some of the others in the line up, but I just think he’s got something, and though we’ve only seen it in snatches, I’m sure he’s going to get a big pot, and I won’t be missing him.

No bet yet then, but the early play for me will definitely be..

    Keyboard Gangster

Still Nube Negra and Captain Moirette for me.

Project Bluebook was poor yet again, and he looks one to finally give up on, so looks like bullet dodged, though really hope he doesn’t go here, as he’ll still distract me.

I’ll get a chance to see Keyboard Gangster tomorrow, and any signs of encouragement, I’ll take a chance, but if he even looks happy to start, I’ll probably take that as encouraging.

Bob, I think we can give up on The Bluebook.

I’m already with Nube Negra at 16-1, but Verdana Blue could be interesting, having been pulled on Thursday.

Yes, enough said after yesterday, where for once, I totally ignored him. I’ll still bet him if he ends up here though lol

Only two musketeers for this one Botch, I didn’t get near the 16’s, so I’m sitting him out until final decs now, and I’ll hsppily settle for the 8’s, though looking like that’ll go soon as well.

Same with Captain Morette, I’ll hold off, and go without an Antepost in this.

I feel as if I’m already ahead after that poor show from Keyboard Gangster yesterday anyway lol.

I know hes a complete dodgepot but if the real brain power shows up here I think he would be incredibly hard to beat

The way he breezed past the likes of silver streak, vision des flos and we have a dream two starts back was a class effort and if he repeats that I think he wins this off his current mark

The problem is that it’s a big if

But at a double figure price I don’t mind taking a flyer on a horse who could get pulled up but could also win on the bridle

Be interesting to see if he runs or not

My other interest would be leoncavallo, the form of that galway hurdle run behind sharjah and in front of horses like bedrock and le richebourg looks strong

It’ll be hard for me to side with Nuba now as main bet, I hate missing the odds like that. He’ll be saver only on the day.

FF I quite like Brain Power for this as well, but if I do jump ship, it’ll probably be with Seddon. Really impressed with him at Musselburgh last season, and don’t think he’s been that bad this season.

No doubt I’ll miss the 20’s on him now lol.

Vision Des Flos At 14-1 for me just now, but I will wait until the field is known. I also like his stablemate Pingshou at a huge 50-1, but not enough to bet him right now.

I have backed two in this BENNYS BRIDGE at 14/1 and ANEMOI at 25/1.

Benny’s has won very easily twice in his last three starts and the other one I think the ground was too soft for him. The way he won three runs ago suggests he is worth a go at this class of race and Feargal has a good record up here.
Anemoi has looked likely to improve throughout the season and ran well behind Capitaine last time out off the same mark and HW horses are running pretty well at the moment.

    Good Luck Guys :good:

I quite fancy Redicean at 8/1 in this. I fancied him for the
Triumph Hurdle a year past, and he ran well before before he tired after 2 out
on ground that was supposed to be soft, but (imo) was worse than that. He’s pretty
much had a flat campaign since then, his last four, including 2 wins, were all over 12f
and 2m and his flat ratings have risen by 14lbs. He did, before his runs on the flat,
have a couple of runs over the sticks last backend. The first was after a lengthy
break behind Pearl Of The West who he reopposes on 5lbs better terms and I’d expect
him to turn that around. The 2nd was in a very hot Elite Hurdle at Wincanton in 4th
behind the likes of Verdana Blue, If The Cap Fits and We Have A Dream. He gave 6lbs
to the winner, Verdana Blue, who is a better horse but the weights have been swung
around a huge 16lbs in his favour. I think he has been kept ticking along on the flat,
and doing rather well, without hurting his mark in this. I think he’s quite well in
here and has a very decent shout.

Redicean for me also at 8s.

He wants a sharp enough 2 miles on nice ground, should get that here.
BigG made the handicap argument above so i won’t regurgitate, although i would add that the Adonis he won shows him further to be well handicapped also with Malaya and Grand Sancy in behind.

Finally had a bet in this, and plumped for….

    Anemoi 25’s
    Captain Moirette 20’s

Win only at the moment, but will add each way if the prices hold.

Still think Nube Negra will be hard to beat here.

I would have said Redicean too however King’s horses are running so poorly at the minute that I will side step him. However he could be thrown in.
