I’ve never had a Scoop6 bet but even I’m beginning to get a little excited by the pot on offer now. When will we know which races are the Scoop6 races?
November 21, 2008 at 00:30 #190916My guess would be 3 from leafy Lingers, 2 from Haydock and the handicap chase from Huntingdon if they follow their usual formula of making it as hard as possible……

I’m not averse to a bit of hard work if the end result is several million in the old skyrocket.

They pick race’s that are impossible to win or they’ve had a tip off from an outsider.
November 21, 2008 at 03:01 #1909602.10, 2.40 and 3.10 from Lingfield will be included. Fancy getting the first and third legs but the fillies handicap looks v difficult.

Hi, is that Damian Walker? My name’s Foinavon ~ let’s talk………
November 21, 2008 at 03:35 #190973Nah – Damian’s ploy is to persuade his pressroom colleagues to club together and enter a large perm in order to swell the coffers, ain’t it, Damian?!

Makes sense though.
November 21, 2008 at 15:21 #191050It’s not straightfoward.
First they have to wait for the final decs. Then they have to wait for the Betfair markets to mature to see which are the hardest races, as their in-house odds compilers are incapable of even making rough and ready guesses off their own back. Then they have to scan the list of runners’ owners to get in some D-Lister to announce the list of races…probably on some local radio station somewhere.

November 21, 2008 at 16:09 #191060The pros and their massive perms will be out in force tomorrow – as per usual, no doubt.

Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning
November 21, 2008 at 16:15 #191061Per the PA, the Scoop6 itinerary for tomorrow has been confirmed as;
Leg 1: 2.10 Lingfield
Leg 2: 2.40 Lingfield
Leg 3: 2.45 Haydock
Leg 4: 3.20 Lingfield
Leg 5: 3.30 Huntingdon 3m2f Handicap Hurdle
Leg 6: 3.50 LingfieldThe inclusion of the Huntingdon race surprises not one iota – long-distance, low-grade handicap hurdles are frequently well-supported there (I think the equivalent contest the last time I went there on Mascot Grand National day had only a couple short of 20 runners).

November 21, 2008 at 16:17 #191062Everything that is wrong with racing can be highlighted with the fact that 3 of the scoop races are going to be at Lingfield!! The flat season is finished…can we please start promoting real racing. its a fecking disgrace….

If there’s one type of low grade handicap hurdle that is generally solvable, its a long distance one.
Good luck!
November 21, 2008 at 16:21 #1910654 races from Lingers, even I’ll invest a tenner
November 21, 2008 at 16:26 #191066If there is another roll-over will they have a couple from Sprint Valley?

I can’t sympathise with that 100%, Underscore – a glance at the fixture list will betray how many Listed and Graded races there are on the all-weather between now and March, and indeed two of the Lingfield races in the Scoop6 tomorrow are Listed. It’s hardly a wilfully obtuse move to include them.
Aren’t they then only as incongruous as, say, having a Listed-or-better class jumps race such as the Summer Plate – a permanent fixture in the Scoop6 for years now, incidentally – in mid-late July?
