Obv Galopin will be all the craze for this but had a tickle on Lecky Watson at 25s in case he doesn’t turn up , I’ll have to tickle Fastorslow to
December 21, 2025 at 11:49 #1748213Not a betting race for me but I’d be happy with a Inothewayurthinkin win.
December 21, 2025 at 11:59 #1748214Gavin says he’s come on mountains for that that gentle return however would they get in a war in bad ground …
December 21, 2025 at 12:42 #1748218It’s forecast dry Tuesday through to Friday, weekend best chance of any rain is Saturday about 3mm.
December 21, 2025 at 13:02 #1748220If thats true then Galopin may not turn up
December 21, 2025 at 13:20 #1748221It was good to yielding when GDC turned up in this last year. They’ll water to get it to at least that if need be.
December 27, 2025 at 13:51 #1748725I’m on grangeclare west. Been good to me at big prices. Question marks about lots of others. Got a feeling of a springboard type of race than legit grade 1.
December 27, 2025 at 14:46 #1748741Much will depend on just how far short off of peak fitness GDC is after his setback, Fastorslow with a run under his belt to me would be a safer choice today (he finished 23L in front of Inothewayurthinkin in the John Durkan, which was a satisfactory comeback run) and it could pay to sit a little off the pace if some of the likely front runners dual for the lead.
I don’t think Inothewayurthinkin will be any further forward for this than he was this time last year when he was still 15L behind GDC. I have to say that Harry Cobden being booked for Champ Kiely is very intriguing to me (his only other ride of the day is on Quevega’s daugther Cameletta Vega is also for Mullins in the Pertemps Qualifier), Champ Kiely ran well first time out over an inadequate 2m going down a short head when trying to give 11lbs to Only By Night and going back up to 3m (a trip he has tried just once under rules when beating Ballyburn in the Punchestown G1 Champion Novice Chase) looks sure to suit. Tactically he can either lead or sit in behind too.
Nice to see Gerri Colombe back but it is a big ask 1st time back from injury but hopefully he will run a nice race before likely getting tied late on.
A race to watch me thinks.
December 27, 2025 at 15:57 #1748774Most of these are running to get their marks reduced for the Grand National, so it’s between the top three from a win perspective and none of them are my kind of price.
I’ll take a chance on Champ Kiely grabbing a place of one of the top three don’t perform.
December 27, 2025 at 17:02 #1748777I wonder if Elliott will have Gerri cherry ripe , he doesn’t take much racing so I’d say you,d have to
December 27, 2025 at 17:10 #1748778Taken two from Elliot, as finding it hard to split Mullins mob
Gerri Colombe 20’s

December 28, 2025 at 05:54 #1748810Trainer is more cautious than optimistic about Galopin Des Champs winning in his preview blog…
“It is a course he really likes but he’s having his first run against horses who all have the benefit of having had a start.
If he runs a good race and comes back safe and sound it will be a weight off our minds.”December 28, 2025 at 07:49 #1748813Wow that screams he needs the run of maybe or he isn’t what he was , I’m happy with the 25 i got on Lecky but I’ll have to tickle Fastorslow
December 28, 2025 at 08:17 #1748814All the money for Galopin des Champs though. Almost evens now. Would absolutely love to see him dominate again!
December 28, 2025 at 08:26 #1748815Evens win Galopin or evens Fastorslow a place , I’d rather go the latter
