Star studded entry, but not a race I’d be rushing into, with races like The King George and John Durkan still to come……

All the big name Gold Cup contenders in there, and if half of them go, it’ll be a cracker, which is usually the case.
As it is, I’m hoping to see some of the less obvious ones going, the likes of….
Burrows Saint
Cadmium
Darasso
Ex Patriot
Real SteelI’ll happily sit this out meantime, for all it’s a cracking entry.

You heard it here first

No shock to see Burrows Saint as high as 33’s after Sunday, but I think it looks big, for all I’m not diving in.
I’d like to have seen Darasso bigger than 20’s, while Cadmium is even lower at 16’s.
I’ll definitely hold off.
December 3, 2019 at 19:21 #1476476Does darasso really stay 3 miles?
He looked to have a very good turn of foot over 2 miles in his last run
December 3, 2019 at 23:48 #1476497I didn’t think he did over hurdles tbh FF.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!December 27, 2019 at 19:08 #1478262A cracking field has turned up for this
Hopefully they all run to form
I got skybet to price up the percy savills chase/gold cup double if anyone wants to join the hype train
Though judging by how my other fancies have run this Christmas cant say I’m overflowing with confidence
December 28, 2019 at 10:59 #1478328Road to Respect for me. Good as ever this year, has had a nice break since Down Royal. Win this then straight to the Gold Cup.
I think the Mullins horses will need the run. Monalee may be the biggest danger, given stable form. Reappearance was nothing to write home about but neither was last year’s.
December 28, 2019 at 11:33 #1478336I think Anibale Fly is worth a EW shot at 25/1.
December 28, 2019 at 11:34 #1478337Road To Respect for me too, I think that he is really good value in this.
December 28, 2019 at 14:30 #1478379I had a free bet so stuck it on Kemboy to win this and the Gold Cup. Nothing to lose.
December 28, 2019 at 15:19 #1478380Another great race at this fantastic meeting. Thanks to the retards at Leicester, we had to share the split screen for the final two fences. Is this done on purpose, or what?
Nevertheless another fantastic G1 race with some finish. Well done, winners!
December 28, 2019 at 15:29 #1478381Super race! Delta Work has filled out and looks super. Think he would have won anyway even if Rachael Blackmore hadn’t lost her irons.
December 28, 2019 at 15:37 #1478382Kemboy jumped the first couple like he hasn’t seen a fence since Punchestown. Come to think of it, he probably hasn’t.
December 28, 2019 at 15:54 #1478383Loads of Mullins horses running rather flat, especially towards the end of their races. I guess their season proper starts a bit later nowadays, otherwise how could you have them in peak form from March till May?
This seems to be the new trend at Closutton imo and it would explain why Willie has won almost every race at Punchestown for the past two years.
December 28, 2019 at 16:14 #1478386Wondering about the pace, as so many were in contention at the turn for home; big difference from the KG! Delta Work back in contention for GC, P Percy + Kemboy down a notch.
December 28, 2019 at 16:42 #1478390Thought about backing Delta Work but was scared off by Kemboy. When will I ever learn never to be scared by one horse? It was made worse by my ultimate “cliff horse” – Burbank – winning the last at Newbury!
More seriously, what a Christmas it has been for Rachel Blackmore. Maybe the media should focus more on this outstanding sportswoman instead of that girl at the darts.
December 28, 2019 at 16:57 #1478392The horse racing media need to stop glorifying bryony Frost and recognise Rachel blackmore a lot more, as unlike frost she is actually a top top jockey
