    I’ve just noticed that there are again only 2 jump fixtures on Saturday, second time this has happened this month as the 2nd only had 2 scheduled as well.

    Is this some sort of new initiative ? It always was a minimum of 3 NH fixtures per Saturday during the NH season.

    The number isn’t the problem it’s the quality. Until Ascot and Haydock on the 23rd, it is dire.

    Tony,

    It’s a result of there being five Saturdays in January, none of which was New Years Day. The meetings which are usually held on the middle two Saturdays have been spread out to cover the extra Saturday.

    I think I would rather see less fixtures with more runners per race. Hopefully this will happen Saturday, although weather may yet intervene with some hard frosts forecast for the coming week.
