Nah; the French have been doing that for years. We should run it on a completely random day like, oh I don’t know, let’s say Wednesday.
July 7, 2014 at 15:44 #484948I think we should just let The Queen decide the fixture list.

I believe she likes Ant & Dec so its a non-starter

Hopefully, she’s got an aversion to the AW.
July 7, 2014 at 17:16 #484953How about we run it on the first Tues in November , in Southwell , shown only on ATR
Chapman . as booth . commentator , and skype on track interviews
That should bring em flocking back ……
Yep I can see Stilvi salivating now ……
Go On Epsom be brave , go to Southwell , if your going to sink the derby then you may as well sink it permanently
July 7, 2014 at 17:52 #484954What about all the people having to travel home afterwards? better idea would be revert back to it being on a weekday and to have a National holiday called ‘Derby Day’. I’m sure HM could pull a few strings.
July 7, 2014 at 19:26 #484959Channel 4 wouldn’t wear it. It would interfere with all those repeats of "Come Dine with Me" and "Restoration Man".

It’ about time they realised that changing the time won’t do anything. They’ve got to get it back to the Beeb if they want figures to go up again.
July 7, 2014 at 21:22 #484964Get rid of Nick Luck and let Emma Spencer present it in a skimpy designer dress, ratings would sore.
July 8, 2014 at 00:13 #484972Only a triple crown contender could excite Joe Public, or someone throwing themselves under the Queen’s horse like Emily Davison did in 1913.
Ask Joe Public for a Grand National winner and most would answer Red Rum because history was made when he became a triple winner.
Racing remains a minority sport, unlike say football. Most people may like or dislike football but it is recognized .
