Spillane’s Tower 8-1 ew for now.
November 26, 2024 at 13:02 #1714088GREY Dawning 12/1
Think Ryanair his best chance of winning a grade one at Cheltenham
December 8, 2024 at 21:18 #1715033Djelo 16/1
Surprised to see such a big price after today’s performance. As usual I can only see 1 of 2 ahead of him in the betting actually running.
December 21, 2024 at 23:15 #1716041Backed my old mate Jungle Boogie at 25-1 e/w.
December 26, 2024 at 10:31 #1716319Cashed out Spillane’s Tower. A few ifs and buts with him at the moment.
December 28, 2024 at 14:55 #1716804Fact To File 5-1 for now. A chance they might consider it as he was outstayed looking at that today.
December 28, 2024 at 15:06 #1716812I still haven’t caught up with the race yesterday but any chance Gaelic Warrior goes here?
Charles Darwin to conquer the World
December 28, 2024 at 15:10 #1716818GW could go anywhere ;o)
December 28, 2024 at 17:47 #1716870The Cash Out King strikes again.
December 28, 2024 at 23:09 #1716909Protektorat is my only Cheltenham bet so far at 25-1
December 29, 2024 at 10:57 #1716926Fact to File will run in the GC , he stays fine and is still a baby yet , no disgrace if he finished 2nd
December 29, 2024 at 11:28 #1716931Agree HDLG. I think JP will want to have at least one go at the Gold Cup with Fact To File. He is better than Spillanes Tower and I Am Maximus. Corbetts Cross would have no chance in a Gold Cup.
December 29, 2024 at 12:02 #1716936I could see Corbett doing a Corach Rambler and nicking a place, big day on the 1st with Gerri Colombe entered , he ran a stinker first time out but this will tell us more , if he runs another bad race then I’ll be looking for e.w value for the GC
December 29, 2024 at 13:15 #1716940Some of it will depend if JP thinks he can reverse the form with GDC at Cheltenham, discussions about that will be had no doubt. GDC will be 10 in 2026 so that might be the time to grab the Gold Cup whilst potentially winning the Ryanair in 2025 with FTF. Of course JP may decide to go for it for some place prize money with the hope GDC flops on the day. No reason the 2 can’t run in the Irish Gold Cup as well to see if FTF can get any closer.
We not seen Corbetts Cross in full flow this season, the King George on decent ground was never going to be his bag, the Gold Cup I could see him run better.
I thought I read somewhere that Gerri Colombe was going to miss Tramore because he wasn’t right, not long to find out if that is the case.

He’s never run at the trip.

What race any horse goes for which race depends on a lot of things.
What might make a difference to where Fact To File goes is Spillanes Tower.
whether JP’s team believe Spillane’s Tower / Mangan is in better form come March… And /or whether they think ST is as good left-handed / at Cheltenham… And / or if they think ST is as good on Good ground if it comes up that surface…
And also whatever else JP might think he has available for the Gold Cup. Several seem to be being aimed more at the Grand National than Gold Cup at this stage… And what the going is come Cheltenham week. As things stand right now – very soft or Heavy going will probably place too much emphasis on stamina than FTF would currently enjoy judged on the Savills… And whether Mullins can get him to settle better at home. If I were connections I’d run FTF again against GDC and this time bury him in behind runners – making it easier for the jockey to settle the horse. On good-soft or Good he’ll definitely take his chance in the Gold Cup.
Value Is EverythingDecember 29, 2024 at 13:58 #1716946Ginge he won a 3m point and 3m at the festival , I don’t see him not staying , we’ll find out in time
December 29, 2024 at 16:21 #1716985I don’t take any notice of Points as far as stamina goes, HDLG. They’re just not the same.
…Yes, FTF has run and won at 3 miles half a furlong. But not 3m2f+…
And although the Brown Advisory was run on very soft ground, the pace was quite slow. So not the greatest test of stamina it could’ve been. Although his Cheltenham performance was very good, tbh considering what he’d done before as a novice… I was a little disappointed he didn’t win by more than 3 3/4 lengths. It’s still very possible a strongly run 2m5f on very soft would suit him better than a strongly run 3m on very soft… let alone at 3m2f+.Value Is Everything - AuthorPosts
