Does anyone think Gods Own could be running in this?

I already have UDS and Uxiandre at nice prices, but this fellow loves the spring and could be right in the mix.

Anyone know anything about his intended target?

    :good:

If you back him, PLEASE take NRNB cos I think he’ll run in the Queen Mum.

Fwiw, he wouldn’t stay 2m 5f on the new course if he started 6 years ago.

I’ll be throwing a dart at Sub Leiutenant in this at a double figure price. The o’leary boys will want their cash back. Drying ground will help this fella and hinder the anti post fav. He’s only 7lb wrong with the fav but a dry run up to the festival will negate that. At 14s,he’s a player. They also have Empire of Dirt but he’s half the price (both rated 162)

Village Vic being aimed at the handicap later on the card rather than the Ryanair.

Sub Lieutenant still overpriced at 14/1. A definite runner who handed out a whipping to Outlander & Le Mercury on good ground earlier in the season and connections seemed surprised when he was defeated by Sizing John last time out when inconvenienced by diverting around the last. The last 3 horses to finish in front of him are now 3rd, 4th & 5th in the betting for the Gold Cup.

    Odd decision.

I do think that Village Vic will head for the handicap, but they did say the same thing last year, and he still ended up in Ryanair. I suppose finishing down the field in last years renewal may have swayed them, but he wouldn’t have to go toe to toe with Vautour this time.

Hobbs stated that Village Vic isn’t good enough for the Ryanair and will definately head for the Plate.

I am hardly brimming with confidence but on Kyoto Lough 33-1 and Black Hercules 33-1 both each way. I am happier with Hercules as I could see him bouncing back to form here, like last year

I’m surprised Un de Sceaux is 4/1 for this. He’s clearly the best horse in the race, almost certain to run, and has the benefit of some horses that might have opposed him going to the Gold Cup in the light of Thistlecrack’s injury. It looks like he will have to run round for about 5 minutes instead of the 4 minutes required for a 2 mile race, but is this really a big issue given his greater maturity and past winning in France over intermediate distance?

My guess is he could go off at around 2/1 on the day, or less if the field is small. In the past he has been odds on in similar circumstances.

Anyone worried he could be a late substitute for Douvan in the Champion Chase can hedge by backing UDS NRNB in that race.

Just looked at the machine and saw 42’s…. I was going to take it too if I couldn’t find any info.I’m not surprised as he’s looked a shadow of the horse from last year.I was wondering when it was going to be my turn to lose a major Ante-Post wager.Including my bets on him for the Gold Cup thats £400 gone gone gone.

He might be the best horse on figures but how accurate are those figures? Personally, I think he is one of the lays of the meeting and Empire Of Dirt will make him look very, very slow. On goodish ground he could be a massive drifter.

Commiserations, Gord. Horrible feeling but you’ll bounce back
