Agree.I’ve backed him for quite a bit at 23, thinking his price will come in quite a bit in the coming days.
Good price you have got there.
I think he could be a big player in the Ryanair.
March 5, 2010 at 15:09 #280615it’s still more or less the same if you fancy him.
March 5, 2010 at 15:25 #280619Does this switch indicate a certain lack of faith in Barbers Shop?
Which of the Henderson pair will Geraghty ride?
March 5, 2010 at 15:30 #280620To give TAPK his dues, he has hit the Bullseye on a number of occasions over the past year. I remember the stick he took for tipping Art Connoisseur last year – only to have the last laugh.
Thanks for the vote of confidence Blunkett!
I know enough about horses to know that bothVoy Por Ustedes
and
Celestial Halo
are way over priced for this years festival so i have had 2 singles and a double on both at
16/1
! Thats a 289/1 double and a 25/1 place double!
March 5, 2010 at 15:35 #280622They said they were talking to both AP and Barry about this so guess it’s up in the air.
There is no way Barber’s Shop has a much better chance than Petit Robin – Trabquil Sea my main bet but you would have to back Petit Robin at these prices.
March 5, 2010 at 15:52 #280630The main difference between Petit Robin and Barbers Shop is that the latter jumps really well, gets the trip perfectly and has mixed it with the very best around, none of which can be applied to the former.

When exactly?
When getting nearly 2 stone?
When getting annhilated by Kauto Star?

You would imagine that Geraghty will be on the Queen’s horse, and McCoy will be on Petit Robin. The fore-mentioned have ridden the horses before, and will know them, so seems silly to change them.

Bit of an odd response!
He was giving 3lbs to a horse who would go on to be rated 35lbs higher than his mark when 2nd in a better Paddy Power than this year’s renewal. As I’ve said at length earlier, had he not gone the Gold Cup route he would have had a better career strike rate than both Tranquil and Poquelin, although it’s a fine strike rate even allowing for his non-staying attempts. The Hennessy – he was cantering behind Denman most of the way and until the petrol ran out looked the 2nd best horse in the race. The 2nd, who he was giving 4lbs to, is a Lexus winner, and the 3rd very nearly won the Aon, with Denman in it, of course.
In the King George he was again able to live with Kauto Star for 2 and a half miles plus until again the petrol began to run out. He would have easily been 2nd had he been ridden to get 2nd.
I begin to wonder what people are seeing when they watch him race, although I suspect people just don’t like the name.
March 5, 2010 at 17:23 #280643I think it is often forgotten how well Petit Robin ran in the QM last year. He was the only horse that gave MM anything like a race and really served it up until MM’s superiority told between the last two. That big effort meant he lost second place to Well Chief (never nearer) who was never able to get anywhere near MM in the second half of the race. Big Zeb and Twist Magic, for different reasons, were also well out of the picture.
He was clearly the second best horse last year imho.
With much the same cast plus Kalahari King this year and even MasterMinded less bombproof due to his injuries..Petit Robin looked good for a place again now that he is going back left handed.Seems strange to me to give up on another shot at the big one in exchange for going to an untried trip (havent seen much evidence he is a noted stayer) in a race (Ryanair) where all the principals look rock solid propositions to run their race. Which, despite their talent, is not something you could say abut the market leaders in the QM.

March 5, 2010 at 19:07 #280670I agree thm, personally I think Big Zeb has got a terific chance in the QM…seems to be a lot of opinion that he doesn’t like Cheltenham based on one fall in a championship race, at halfway when he was still travelling…pretty inconclusive as to his like or dislike for the track.
Just don’t think the Ryanair is a good call for Petit Robin…can’t see him placing there.March 5, 2010 at 20:54 #280702Gerathy knows Big Zeb is the only horse that can serve it up to the champ.
Thats what i cant get my head round thm,Geraghty must have had the choice of Big Zeb and Forpady and yet he has blatantly chose the wrong one!
March 5, 2010 at 21:13 #280711Forpady doesn’t have the gears to go with the Master! What he does have however is smart accurate jumping (a department where Big Zeb is thick as a double ditch at times). Therefore, Forpady rates as a better e/w proposition, but Big Zeb’s engine is bigger!

Have you ridden both as well then?

What form has Forpady’ shown that suggests he could get into a photo finish with Master Minded
March 8, 2010 at 23:44 #281276Why isn’t Forpadytheplaster in this race? Tom Cooper said that AP recommended this race…. Who is AP on for Ryanair so
