Just nothing to enthuse about beyond the class he’s already shown, if anything I was a little put off given the proximity of the race to Chelts and the closeness of his rather inferior rivals at the line. He’s good at beating stayers though for sure.

That said I have it between him and Barbers Shop, the latter I feel is the classiest 2m5f horse in the race, as I’ve said at length earlier. Should be a cracking good race mind.

Have it your own way, BB – I see nothing in the RyanAir that would’ve done the same, in similar circumstances.

Of course not reet! Beating this years National winner by 3 lengths!! Barbers shop, Albertas Run, Poquelin, Voy Por Ustedes would all beat Snowy Morning by 10 lengths! Never mind Schindlers hunt who beat him by half the track!

I hav my doubts TAPK as to whether any of those horse would have won that race by 10 lengths.

With respect, BB, the closeness of his rivals is entirely down to the fact he wasn’t asked a question until after the last fence, and then only asked enough to beat them comfortably.
With no respect, TAPK – your are talking out of your anus.

Hi all! New to the forum tonight.
I’ve fancied Poquelin all season for the Ryanair, but if the ground gets really soft i’d go for Tranquil Sea. But long range weather for next 2 weeks is showing a drier spell, so i reckon the ground wil be no worse than good to soft come the thursday.

Surely that is typical Tranquil Sea. For me if they are asking him before the last he is in serious trouble.

Can’t see where that was a problem in the Paddy Power, Stilvi?

Gord, VPU was recently beaten over 2 miles by a couple of animals rated in the mid 150’s. Tranquil Sea faced a similar, maybe slightly lesser field (I’m excluding Master Minded from this argument as he is in a different parish) but he beat them on the bridle, jumping well throughout. On current form, which outside of handicaps generally counts the most, VPU should be the price he is. If he turns up and puts in a good round then yes he has a chance but he has not jumped well all year and therefore he just isn’t an antepost bet in my book, nor is he the most likely winner.

Aragorn with all due respect, its comments like yours that make me feel like Martin luther King turning up at a BNP garden party! When has

    Voy Por Ustedes

had his optimum conditions just once this season? He hasn"t! Cheltenham on Goodish ground in the spring will bring it out though! " A Genuine leader is not a searcher for consencus but a molder of concencus"!!

Mr King was also a decent speller as well.

I dont really think taking Voy Por’s run over 2 miles, as a guide to how he is going to run in the Ryanair, is fair on the horse at all.

He is no way on earth a 2 miler these days.

It’s not like for like so can’t assess it fairly.

VPU – Highest rating in field with official handicapper
    – Never finished worst than 2nd in 5 races at Chelt
    – 16/1
    – Valid excuse for last race: trip too short
    – Valid excuse for prev race: trip too long
    – Would have won prev race if not for 2 bad jumps

In Ryanair will have his best trip on ground likely to suit, in his last race he ran a similar sort of race and was beaten a similar distance as when beaten in Masterminded’s first Champion Chase, looked well and jumped well. He followed up that defeat by Masterminded by reversing the form and beating Masterminded by the same margin.

If he can run to within half a stone of his best will be difficult to beat

He will run his race that’s for sure, you know when Voy Por goes onto the track he will do his best.

    He’s so honest.

Yes i am slightly biased, and yes i see more of him than i do other horses, but, I can’t see him being outside the top 2 or 3, especially now Imperial Commander is going for the Gold Cup.

I can see him finishing infront of Poquelin.

I do think Barbers Shop will be there or there abouts, in my opinion, he has been crying out for this trip, and i think it will suit him.

I imagine the first 3 home will be Voy Por, Tranquil Sea and Barbers Shop, im just not sure in which order.

Nothing wrong with the spelling Reason! As the great man said "Everything that we see is a shadow cast by that which we do not see"! 8)
