for the curious, he’s ridden at three (fairly run-of-mill) Tokyo racedays so far (prize money in JPY):
Sat 8 Nov – one win (JPY 5m), two seconds (2 x 2.8m), a third (2.6m), and a fourth (2.7m)
Sun 9 Nov – one win (5m), one fourth (1.5m), one fifth (5.5m)
Sat 15 Nov – three wins (5m, 7m, 10m), one third (4.5m), one fifth (0.5m).
so across the three days he’s won JPY 56m in prize money, or approx GBP 305,000.
(standard prize money division = 10 per cent to jockey).
progress can be charted here:
November 16, 2014 at 09:25 #495406today, his fourth Tokyo raceday, has seen Ryan add three wins, four seconds, one third, and one ninth.
that adds another JPY 54.4m (GBP 298,000) to his prize-money haul.
the Japan Cup is on Sunday 30 November (JPY 250m [GBP 1.47m] to the winner):

November 25, 2014 at 00:21 #496366Tryin Moore is a good name for a jock
and he has had the experience of all
these good horses. He was born in Brighton
so is guaranteed a good pair of lungsLeg action is fine but
I have always argued that Henry Moore
had the better hands though
and his Derby win
represented in the
Victoria and Albert
still makes me gooey

http://japanracing.jp/en/jpn-racing/guide/index.html
>> Modern horse racing in Japan had its beginnings in racing events that were organised by foreign residents of Yokohama in 1862….predominantly British….<<
>> Jockeys:
After their mounts have been declared on the day before the race, jockeys are obliged to remain in the jockeys’ quarters or jockey’s room until they mount their assigned horses.
These facilities are at racecourses, or training centers, and are equipped so that jockeys can prepare themselves mentally and physically to demonstrate their utmost abilities during races.
Furthermore, having jockeys under supervised custody in these facilities from the time their mounts have been declared until after a race has finished also has the merit of preventing undesirable incidents that might affect race outcomes. <<
