Hello,
Ruby just doesn’t like that Second Last at Aintree..

There is a lot of debate about whether Kauto Star and Master Minded, didn’t like the course, didn’t get the trip, over the top etc. etc….but personally I think the two bad jumps at the second last ended any chance of victories.
Without being too critical of Ruby, but Iam sure others will, if the horses’ had jumped that fence better they would have won…then there would have been no debate about the horses performances’…

regards,

lol… I was thinking the same thing as he blasted through the 2nd last with MM too
April 4, 2008 at 14:31 #155808Weird game this is. Ruby said Master Minded didn’t stay but he was never really going. He didn’t jump well early on and he was never travelling the way he did at Cheltenham. Someone explain the reason to me because I can’t find one.
Horses aren’t machines granted but Master Minded was rated twenty lengths better than Voy Por Ustedes before todays race he should still been able to win even if he didn’t really stay.
Didn’t jump the second last well no but at no stage of the race was this horse really going.
April 4, 2008 at 14:31 #155809Master Minded could have jumped the 2nd last like Pegasus and it still wouldn’t have won today. The second last seems to be a bit of a problem as Battlecry lost the first race (Ruby benefitting this time) by doing what Kauto Star did yesterday.
April 4, 2008 at 14:59 #155819Hello Aaron,
I disagree that even with a good jump, MM would have lost. The bad jump meant his back legs landed with a jolt, possibly injuring him. He lost all momentum, and actually ran as if hurt. No, a good jump would have seen him win. But that is just my humble opinion.

April 4, 2008 at 15:07 #155823He was second in a G1 in France last May over 20.5 furlongs so hard to say he doesn’t really stay
April 4, 2008 at 17:33 #155870Apparently after that G1 at Auteuil Ruby found it very easy to say that the horse doesn’t stay.

Ruby Walsh, Paul Nicholls, Tony McCoy, Andrew Thornton and Norman Williamson all thought he didn’t stay, but what would they know?
Incidentally, Master Minded’s French gd1 2nd was in a slowly run race, which apparently many of them are, and proves nothing.April 4, 2008 at 23:01 #155994Should have kept him for Punchestown, over 2m, getting a 7lbs allowance, against trees……..
April 4, 2008 at 23:34 #156004Is it me or are PN and Ruby slowly becoming some sort of Laural and Hardy act?

I think the same which is strange!….as i think he would have stayed but for almost dislocating both front legs.
