Missed thommos question, just heard ruby saying "dont ask such a stupid question", then thommo said "I have to ask these questions" and ruby said "no you dont".
What was the question?
Thommo said, "Oh so Ruby, any regrets at picking the wrong horse to ride"
Ruby, "That’s one of the most ridiculous questions to ask"
Thommo, "Well i know but i have to ask"
Ruby, "No, you don’t have to ask me at all".
Certainly, glad "Ruby" put him in his place.
Why on earth did they utilize him for the interview?

Should have just given Tommo the Piggott reply from 1983.
I’m not that impressed – it was an obvious question to ask, Thommo’s job is to ask questions and Ruby agreed to be interviewed. "I’m bloody gutted" would have been an easy enough answer to give without getting all poncey about it.
But then I haven’t just lost the Gold Cup I guess.
Rich, I would disagree. An interviewer’s job is to ask questions that give an insight, something we may not have considered or don’t already know the answer to*. Ruby had already, in answer to the very first question, said he was disappointed, so why hammer home a blindingly obvious point that my cat could understand without it having to be asked?
*Admittedly Thommo has never done this in the years I’ve been watching C4 so it would have been a miracle if he started now.

Yeah, I suppose. If it had been Lesley Graham, I’d probably have been cheering. Ruby can’t have been expecting an in indepth and thought provoking question, so I just thought he was being a bit graceless.
I’m not that bovvered though, honest!
It wasn’t THAT bad. He could have easily said that he was still glad he rode Kauto as he has always ridden him, has allegiances with him etc etc… Still gives everyone their excuses to get their dig into tommo.

I never say anything about him, i think he is ok to be honest, but that today was a ridiculous question to ask and i’m not suprised Ruby reacted the way he did.
