I see Betfair have opened a market on next years RSA Chase, early days i know but i have my eye on one horse in particular and have already backed him at 66/1 earlier this year.Tell Massini also has crucial Cheltenham form to his name and its a course that suits his powerful stride,he always looked like a horse who if he achieved anything over hurdles it would be a bonus so to have won 2 grade 2 hurdles races shows this fellow has an engine.I look forward to his debut over fences and wouldn"t be surprised to see him contest one or two around his favoured course before the big one in March.

I lost a bundle on Tell Massini in the Albert Bartlett and he would be my idea of one of the more plausible RSA horses at this stage.

Time For Rupert for me, at this very early stage. To be honest that’s through a lot of sentiment, as he’s probably my favourite horse in training at the moment, but I do genuinely think there’s still a lot more to come from him.

One that has been a bit of a disappointment is Aiteenthirtythree. Was really hyped up before, but I’ll be keeping an eye on him too. Willing to give him another chance!

Loosen My Load will have a great chance if he runs. I’m gonna have a each-way wager.

Owner was interviewed on TG4 after the race today. Said that he hoped the horse would end up in the Arkle long-term.

Lovely prospect. Looks a natural over his fences.

He looks much more like an RSA horse to me. I can’t remember ever seeing a novice jump with such fluidity, check his debut run too, he never touched a twig that day and I wouldn’t call kicking some birch out of the second last with his hind legs today a mistake. The way he fences reminds me of the great Freddie, he has that same invincible air of authority about him that made Freddie such a star

Appreciate the info thanks Imperial, I’m going on what I’ve seen, he definately found the 2 miles too short against Fosters Cross and has been beaten in all bar one of his 2 mile hurdles but has a 100% record in runs beyond 16f

I wouldn’t read too much into that defeat by Fosters Cross. The ground was way too quick for him that day and Tipp would be one of the sharpest two miles in the country.

Agreed IC, my opinions go back to the day I saw him beat Anshan Dreams. I’ve always felt that anything he achieved before he went chasing would be a bonus. I also felt staying would be his forte… didn’t stop me doing my cash that day at Tipperary though :(
Right now I’m trying not to get too carried away by his first two chases.
My favourite horse of those currently in training is For Bill, word is she won’t be leaving Ireland so The RSA is unlikely to be her objective but wherever she goes I sincerley hope she avoids this fellow.

The Betfair 40/1 Loosen was great value in my book last week for the Arkle ,and glad to say I got to the trough early. Wish there was more about.?

I have three at the moment and i am on them all so far Finians Rainbow,Arvika Ligeonniere and On Raaglan Road. All good horses over hurdles but not excellent but they will excel when a fence is put infront of them.Of Mikael D, I am a good friend of Rubys and he told me that hed beat The Fly over 2m so hes bieng aimed at the Arkle

I’ve always expected great things from On Raglan Road, he might still deliver, but I feel the stables best chance in The RSA would be Quwetwo, a chaser in waiting if I’ve ever seen one, although I feel the others will be running for minor honours if Lossen My Load goes from the longer novice race at The Festival. For Bill has the potential to win The RSA but is supposedly unlikely to run outside Irland

I see in the entries index

    Tell Massini

has several options in which to make his chasing debut this week, this fellow is defineately one of the horses i am most looking forward to following.I still get great pleasure from watching the demolition job he did on both Reve de Sivola and Berties Dream at Cheltenham last year, both horses went on to win top races.I have no doubt that Tell massini has a touch of the Imperial Commanders about him and that Cheltenham will bring the best out of him,one day he will be a Gold Cup horse but for now he has to be trained for the RSA and hopefully not the 21/2m Nov Ch! I have taken the 16/1 Ladbrokes are offering in anticipation of a fine round of jumping where ever connections decide to start him off!

No doubt if you don’t win having come from PN’s all the negheads will be saying you’ve been Jonjoed

Jonjo would be looking for a possible RSA horse so he’s not the worst recuit he could have bought.

Suprised Barber and Fidlay let him go so cheap. They obviously thought after the Pertampts he wasn’t as good as they hoped or PB would have gone a lot more to keep him.

Got and engine and Jonjo will no doubt find out soon enough. At the prce he hardly needs to be winning grade 1 races to justify buying him. Either way he looks sure to pay his way.

20/1 for the RSA isn’t generous though for a horse who’s only at the schooling stage and flopped at the festival.

Very taking performance today by Wayward Prince at Huntingdon.

Looks to have plenty of stamina, it was a strong pace today set by McCoy and his mount, and Wayward Prince took over the running going down the back on the final circuit.

Travelled well, and jumped well apart from a mistake at the last.

Id imagine RSA would be his target come March if he continues in the fashion he has shown so far.
