I probably wont be as good at golf when i’m 65, thats not necessarily a reason to stop playing is it?
Evander Holyfield should also retire.
As for golf, Ballesteros still deludes himself that he is a contender!
Untimely as their deaths were, at least we will remember RB and Best Mate at or near the top of the tree

He won his second-last race at Huntingdon before disappointing at Cheltenham in the Greatwood.
Another sad day for NH racing, he wasn’t a favourite of mine and I don’t think his name will crop up in 10-20 years time when discussing the great hurdlers but like most NH enthusiasts I really admired him.
You’ve got to be a bit special to be applauded down to the start at Cheltenham and I remember him winning at Kempton in 2002 with Norman Williamson sitting motionless- that was the race that started his winning run off obviously culminating in the Champion and the 2 victories this year were really heart-warming also.
I’m not one of these who say, ‘he should have been retired’ etc but the sad thing is that he may have only been a week from retirement had he disappointed in the Xmas Hurdle.
October 31, 2006 at 17:54 #81734rooster booster was the horse that got me interested in national hunt racing. he had a presence that stood out and i followed his career from his win in the county hurdle. he loved his racing and would have won many more races had they been run at a decent clip. the old grey will be missed. would be nice to see detroit city win the champion, but he wont have the character rooster had, and nor will any other horse
