    Fatally injured at southwell tonight. Happened jumping one of the fences in the home straight

    Another decent horse lost during a summer jumping contest at the worst possible track. Only had one F and three unseats to his name in 51 starts. You could call him a pretty decent jumper, but those unforgiving fences claimed another experienced horse.

    There’s something horrible about those fences on wheels. As the horses came down the home straight (after bypassing poor Rock on Fruity) you could see the attendants ready withing seconds to wheel them in to be ready for the bumper. No class at all.
