Is running in a 2m handicap hurdle at Aintree on Sat
i think he’ll win with his head in his chest – get on ladies and gents
October 21, 2008 at 16:33 #185690He’s certainly handicapped to – I’ll see what else is lining up before piling in, but the gut instinct is that you’re probably going to be proven right in spades.

October 21, 2008 at 21:03 #185733He did exceptionally well last season, especially since he didn’t acclimatise, after his importation from South Africa during mid-season. He didn’t settle, in the early part of his first race at Doncaster, but was a little better at Cheltenham, his next and final time out last season. As Paul Nicholls comments….
"Fifth in the Supreme novices at Cheltenham but I don’t think he’d acclimatised and is a better horse now."
And adds further…"A handicap hurdler for this season who can hopefully be competitive off his current mark now he has acclimatised."
So with his nine or ten months in training in this country behind him he should be used to conditions. He should settle well enough in his races and with the stable in flying form and with the handicap mark looking to be a very competitive one he should give a good account of himself. However, I suppose it all depends on how much the field cuts up, but I wouldn’t think he’ll be a particularly handsome price.
November 3, 2008 at 06:04 #187679I was almost relieved to read Paul Nicholl’s column in the Racing Post where he says….They blood tested Rippling Ring and he was found to be suffering from an infection. He’s on antibiotics for six days and could still be back for something like the Greatwood.
His run at Aintree was disapointing even more so by the way he seemed to just fold up, there had to be something wrong.
