Ride of the day – R. Whearty on Muine Mor -Non-runner!

I don’t suppose too many saw this chap vigorously subdue the bolting filly Muine Mor before the opening maiden at Navan today. The manner in which he was able to stand virtually on her shoulders for a prolonged period to curb her enthusiasm must surely be proof of first-class horsemanship. I see Robert Whearty is from Bellewstown and from a racing background so he must have been born with a whip in this mouth! Anyway if his jockeyship matches this horsemanship he must surely have a bright future.
