An interesting race with 3yo fillies backing up very quickly from their seasonal reappearances.
Frankly Darling looked exciting at Newcastle + we know Gosden has a habit of sending good ones there. She could be anything there’s no doubting that but at the price you’d take her on.
Trefoil has been tipped up in many places for the Oaks and was supported when beaten 4Ls by Run Wild. That was a decent enough run and you’d expect her to improve on that again but she’d certainly need to. She seems popular again at 5-1 and to my eye that wouldn’t be a bet as it stands. I’d expect Gosden to be confident of beating her again.
Miss Yoda is the Gosden second string and won the Oaks trial at Lingfield. She did that well enough but the form would be very suspect for me. The second was rated 80 before that run.
Born With Pride didn’t run well on reappearance, but it’s certainly excusable, i think she’s a staying filly that needs made use of based on her 2 runs. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s ridden more prominently (as long as she’s not slowly into stride
like last time). She’d probably be decent price with Peaceful looking to frank the form tonight. She could be one that shortens i suspect. The one i think should be half the price she is in some spots is Passion. Prices range from 14-1 to 6-1. With in my opinion the 6-1 looking more correct. Her maiden win has worked out very well- two grade 3 winners in 4th and 5th. Impeded at Donny by Cloak of Spirits when attempting to make up ground Moore gave up hope after that. I suspect being a sis to Capri and Cypress Creek, she’s a staying type of filly and any wouldn’t have had the pace to pick up again after that. Don’t get me wrong i don’t think she was winning that race, but i suspect she was running on well before that. Since then, she caught my eye when 4th on reappearance staying on nicely at the finish. I don’t think that is bad form at all and i suspect the 1m4 will be right up her street.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!June 13, 2020 at 17:01 #1490570Born with Pride on a bit of a retrieval mission
Haggas was keen to stress they needed to start her somewhere and that would indicate that she needed the run
Interesting point regard Peaceful so I’ve parted with a few bob at 7’s incase Peaceful does the job tonightGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
June 14, 2020 at 02:03 #1490616The form of born with prides debut is really stacking up
Peaceful has won a group 1 and the third run wild has hacked up in a listed race
She has to be better than she showed at kempton and I’m prepared to forgive that
She’s the one for me at 7/1 e/w
June 14, 2020 at 10:32 #1490631I’ll not have a bet here, but I’d be disappointed if Frankly Darling doesn’t turn out to be a bit special.

June 14, 2020 at 20:15 #1490692Just forget about playing against her..
June 15, 2020 at 00:35 #1490710Maybe Jackh would find a hair in the soup (we say this in German) like he usually does, but I wouldn’t give too much of a damn
June 15, 2020 at 00:45 #1490713Hein, what are you talking about?

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!June 15, 2020 at 02:28 #1490728Jackh, I meant that you used to be quite ultra-critical about favs in general and that you don’t even know the meaning of the word hype horse ( don’t remind me of that!), but don’t worry, I will never discuss anything with you again, as I still need the remainder of my nerves
As the Stones once sang in their prime: Just get off my cloud!June 15, 2020 at 02:52 #1490729I’m not really a favourite backer, unless I’m very hot on one, and I must admit I’m
as hot as I can be on Frankly Darling. She looked decent on her
appearance at York last October, and although was beaten into 2nd, it was obviously
a race just to get her some experience. Nicky Mackay was clearly told not to be hard
on her, she travelled beautifully, was last off the bridle, and when challenged up the
rail Nicky’s one swipe of the whip was as laughable as it was ineffectual.I thought her run at Newcastle 2 weeks back was as promising as anything I’ve seen
for a while. Travelled beautifully and when challenged was given 1 crack by Havlin
and she took off. I’d be surprised if she wasn’t odds on come Tuesday, and I’ve
had a decent bet for me at 7/4 with Bet365. I think she could
be a bit special.June 15, 2020 at 02:58 #1490730Thank you very much my friend Graham, as your opinion means much so to me
As far as I know you would generally rather drop dead (attention:sarcasm!) than speak positive about a fave, and I absolutely agree with you, as I consider FD the most comfortable winner of this whole event
June 15, 2020 at 09:28 #1490740Hein, this is a pretty unexpected insult!
What i said regarding the favourite:
“Frankly Darling looked exciting at Newcastle + we know Gosden has a habit of sending good ones there. She could be anything there’s no doubting that but at the price you’d take her on.”I think i’ve agreed she could be anything and a very good filly? The difference being i think her price is right, whereas i didn’t think Passion’s price was?
I think Frankling Darling looked superb in her maiden win but it’s worth remembering she still has to run out of maiden company. Gosden has a habit of having superb horses so it’s likely she’ll do fine

As for your jibe on what a hype horse is, you don’t need to be Einstein to know what a hype horse is.
Anyway, thanks for jumping on a Royal Ascot thread to throw some insults

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!June 15, 2020 at 10:31 #1490743Just to give you all a bit of background of William Haggas’s comment about Born With Pride end of last week..
“Would be entered in the Ribblesdale or The Queens Vase. Leaning towards the Queens Vase as see her as a staying filly. Also think she is a better filly with cut in the ground. Also said put a line through her last run as just about everything on the day went wrong”.
Now that she is in this race you would think ideally wanting some soft in the going, and relying on one or two others in the race to not be classy/top drawer in order to win.
June 15, 2020 at 10:38 #1490745Yeah Mike- it’s possible she’ll still be pulled from this and head to the Vase! Hugh Taylor has tipped her and she’s a sea of blue now!
She does worry me as nothing went right at Lingfield and she’s clearly far better than that.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!June 15, 2020 at 10:44 #1490746Pulled out just now
June 15, 2020 at 10:46 #1490747she is a non runner for this
June 15, 2020 at 10:55 #1490750Sadly missed the 12s on Ladbrokes/Coral they have frozen the price for that.
I have taken the 9s about her for the Vase though as it doesn’t look particularly strong at this stage.
