Not a race I’ve had much luck, if any in the past so proceed with caution. I’m desperate for Paddy Twomey to get one on the board at this meeting, he may get it Wednesday, he may get multiple, anyway I do like the profile of Catalina Delcarpio (Leonardo’s sister?) who steps up to 12f after a troubled run in behind Oaks 4th Wemighttak…etc 3/1

I am a fan of Catalina Delcarpio. But she hasn’t run with “firm” in the title (had just two runs) and is by soft ground sire Lope De Vega. I made her value in the market last night, put my bet up on betfair and then deleted. Thought – considering the ground – she’d drift. Oops. If she does act could be the class filly from a bang in form yard.

Andrew Balding is in good form too. Serenity Prayer is my biggest bet. Beaten 5 1/2 lengths by Whirl in the Musidora. But that was only her second start, this trip looks sure to suit and came from the back… which may help here. So many front / prominent runners.

I do believe the two horses above have a better than 50% chance of winning.

Taken a chance with one of those front runners – at a bigger price. Handicapper Lady Vivian. Won a 12f Chester handicap with a lot more than the length verdict suggests. That run was on the softer side, but looking at her action it imo should not be a problem. Ralph Beckett looked to have a lot of good three year old fillies and interesting he’s chosen Lady Vivian who could improve quite a bit.

…And my third bet is the Johnston Caspi Star, who got within 2 1/4 lengths of the subsequent Oaks winner Minnie Hauk in the Cheshire Oaks. Held up and having to go wide off the turn. The only filly not to lose any ground on the winner in the final furlong.

Had a saver on Life Is Beautiful. Chased home the Group 1 bound Falakeyah in the Pretty Polly, with subsequent Newbury Trial winner Qilin Queen in behind. Life Is Beautiful was staying on and could improve quite a bit from a trainer in absolutely outstanding form, the Gosdens. LIB seems the most likely of his three in this.

Ballydoyle’s two year olds are impossible to beat this week, but he doesn’t have many top three year old plus horses this year. Garden Of Eden has form similar to a lot here, but has had a lot more runs to get there. Surely less chance of improvement?

Might be looking at having a saver on Catalina if drifting back out a little.

The way Island Hopping was ridden was ridiculous.

Pacemakers in the Ribblesdale now. Its a problem he’s got so many bloody horses he can just sacrifice one of them to get the race to suit whoever Ryan’s on. WTF was that ride by Dylan Brown McGonagle, stewards need to be asking questions there.

They definitely need to be asking no way was that ridden to achieve it’s best position. The uninitiated may well have had a punt on that what a joke.

Whatever she was that was a ridiculous ride that had her beat about half a mile from home. Just looked farcical.

Well done winners, I got that one a bit wrong.

    However, another “non-trier” pacemaker.
I have no objection to pacemakers as long as they go off at a pace they themselves have some chance of sustaining. ie If the jockey is trying to win for himself – that’s fine.

If stewards used the existing rules correctly McMonagle will be banned…
And O’Brien would also be in trouble.

    I wonder whether they’ll act.

Take all the prize money off the owners and maybe they wouldn’t **** on the rules.

Wow! Just seen a flying pig.
