What’s going on at Timeform Radio? Last few times I’ve tuned in the pundit is operating from a telephone. Very offputting, sounds crap.
Jeremy can you fill us in please?
September 3, 2012 at 12:22 #411867Hello Cav,
I’ve been out of the country and nowhere near t’interweb for a bit, so apologies for not answering sooner.
I’m afraid the short answer is I’ve no idea! Had the pundit for the date you posted been one of the Halifax-based contingent it’s a possibility that the ISDN line at the Halifax studio had gone down (with a phone line thus having to be resorted to), but having checked the timetable it was one of the Hammersmith lot on duty on the 24th. I last used Hammersmith on the 18th and it was clear as a bell then.
That’s all 10 days ago and more besides now, though. Can you confirm if matters have improved any in the interim, or indeed today (a non-Halifax day, looking at my copy of the roster) for that matter? Ta in advance.

September 6, 2012 at 19:45 #412220Hi Cav,
I was on on the evening you posted (and again on the following Sunday) when the broadcast facility at Cheltenham racecourse was unexpectedly unavailable due to the electricity supply being commandeered by the incumbent Greenbelt Festival. This means that I had to relocate to my living room to complete the broadcast, which was an inconvenience to me, but more so to listeners. That situation has since been rectified, although the damage done to parts of the racecourse by thousands of rampant Christians allegedly devoted to social awareness/justice hasn’t.
September 19, 2012 at 22:15 #413724Cheers for the reply gents. DJ was on by telephone today and Jamie Lynch similarly remote the last time I tuned in. Really detracts from the broadcast imo, which is a shame, because the punditry on there is generally very good.
Austerity comes to TF Radio, it seems.
