Not sure if this story has reached across the pond yet, but this little starter allowance horse, claimed for $6,250 earlier this year, won his 19th consecutive race earlier today. He’s won 17 of those this year. 7 different tracks, 7 different jockeys, 7 different distances. Almost all wire-to-wire. Granted, this is not stakes company. His connections enjoy taking a star around the blue-collar horse region (Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland). His speed figures aren’t too shabby, though, and neither are his actual race times.
He does best off a short rest, just a week or two suits him best. He’s tough, game, determined, and if all goes well we’ll see him at least a few more times this year, with his final start perhaps in the Claiming Crown on December 3rd.
The chart from this afternoon’s race. I would’ve been there but I’m stuck in southern Virginia right now . http://www.equibase.com/static/chart/pd … 11USA6.pdf

A Baltimore Sun reporter and photographer even came along-this hardly ever happens anymore, even for graded stakes races at Laurel!
