BATH 2.10
Probably not won much of a maiden but I felt this was a useful performance. Well backed down to 9/2 he was expected to be on the button.
A combination of running very newbish and being outpaced he was being chased along through the early stages of the race but came back on the bridle very smartly by 2 out and at the furlong marker forged clear.
I felt the front 3 went off a bit quick here but with the 2nd staying on to hold on for 2nd and already having some placed maiden form it’s a decent enough benchmark to suggest he is a bit better than the average maiden.
Not a bad run in third at Sandown. Outpaced early again he has done some good late work. Monsieur Chevalier was far to good for him here though at this stage of their careers.
Winkworth stable struggling for winners at this point and I have been avoiding his runners like swine flu.
Gives every impression he will be effective at 6f and lots of time on his side.
