Just been looking at the results for Wincanton yesterday online and apparently, every race was run in a time that exactly equals the standard.
That came as a surprise, as I was there and the ground was as bad as I’ve ever seen at Wincanton.
December 5, 2008 at 13:51 #194511Yeah…
i am less psstd with the new RP website, they seem to be ironing things out GRADUALLY mmmm
Just hope they include the going correction data for each meeting.

carlisleDecember 5, 2008 at 18:45 #194611In the meantime, and whilst the Post is still getting its act together, I notice that Timeform is offering FREE insights for every race in Britain and Ireland today, Saturday and Sunday.
For those of you that don’t know what that comprises, the contents of the mailshot I got from them explains;
“Race Insights provide all the Timeform information you need for any race.
– Timeform Race Ratings
– A Timeform racing CV for every runner, including its Timeform commentary, performance ratings and analysis for each start
– Trainer and jockey performance statistics
– Live Betfair prices
– Unique In-Play symbols for British races“A fairly enterprising offer in the circumstances, I reckon. I’ve become quite a fan of the in-play symbols over the last couple of months in particular, as they take a lot of the drudgery out of trying to work out the likely pace and shape of a race.

December 5, 2008 at 19:07 #194615This just in from the The Racing Shambles…..
As you are aware we are in the process of working on development issues which have affected your access to Racing UK through racingpost.com.
As a subscriber you will now – with immediate effect – be able to access all Racing UK replays on racingpost.com without logging in.
This will be the case until we reinstate log in on the site. The easiest way to access Racing UK is to go to the Media Centre on the home page, and click on the Racing UK Schedule button. To view historic race replays once you are in the Racing UK Schedule area, click on the red downward arrow next to the ‘Today’ button on the left hand-side of the screen in the Media Centre. This will display a calendar which will allow you to select the day of the replay you want to view.
We regret that we are still not able to restore your access to live Racing UK through racingpost.com due to technical issues. This will be resolved when log in is reinstated on the site next Wednesday, 10th December. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.
Thank you for your continued patience.
No Tingle Creek for me then
December 5, 2008 at 19:18 #194621Tried to log in at work, but our system doesn’t have windows internet explorer 7 and we cannot download it. So I cannot access thte site at all because it can be viewed only using IE7.
Oh well, it’s off to ATR at least things work well there.
December 5, 2008 at 22:04 #194668Today, I couldn’t get a video of a horse’s previous race. All the visual indicators seemed to suggest I should.
Couldn’t get race results for the day on a single page either. Just the latest.
I think it would be called it very non-intuitive navigability.

They must like you because I cannot get the Timform race insights for free.
Good luck

You have to register with Timeform, no idea, but the race previews are indeed free (according to their website at least).
December 6, 2008 at 01:41 #194709Timeform keep sending me e-mails for free weekend ‘Insights’, which I routinely delete (being strictly from the school of "No such thing as a freebie").
Am I missing out? Do these things show Black Book ratings etc, or is it just a loose appraisal of the weekends events?

The Insights include (I think) full career perspective as well as adjusted racecard ratings and the up-to-date comment.
December 6, 2008 at 15:51 #194842Am I being dim or is it now impossible to export racecards into Excel using the Import External Data function on the new RP website? A standard C&P of the racecard gives a load of gobbledeygook.
December 6, 2008 at 16:39 #194853Just thought I’d put a good word in for Timeform’s Customer Service.
I emailed them last night with a problem on my account. This morning I recieved an email asking me to phone them, which I did. Within two minutes problem sorted. Excellent customer service – unlike some others!

Thanks for the nod, DJ. Looked through the Sandown Insight today – very useful.

Not being dim. The new site uses frames and the external data function looks for tables.

December 6, 2008 at 22:50 #194950Not complaining but wonder if the troubles of RP new site and the fact that a couple of days this week including today RUK has been free to air has any connection -anyway long may it continue
December 6, 2008 at 22:51 #194953On a positive note the new RP site now includes P2P form from the Irish tracks
December 6, 2008 at 22:56 #194956No worries Grasshopper, hope you made use of the ones for Great Leighs aswell.
