What features of the RP website do you enjoy the most?
What features would you like to see on the RP website?I’d like to see more interactive services offered – IE. live chat sessions w/ RP staff on course OR Q&A sessions w/ racing identities.
Also, a "racehorse stock exchange" that provides a trading platform, which allows ‘shares’ in a specific racehorse to be traded.
What else?
April 29, 2009 at 06:55 #224231I like the quotes from connections in the form section – but these are usually only after wins. I’d like these to be extended.

April 29, 2009 at 09:57 #224237I would like to see a discussion of editorial policy.

But would the bookmakers bother taking part?
Without them it would be meaningless.
April 29, 2009 at 12:22 #224248The new site is dumbed down version of the old one, you can only assume they have wrecked it at the behest of the bookies and some of the crooked tipping outfits that run it.
I think they should either wind it up completely or start all over again.
As for additional features .. nah, why bother? They can’t even get the basics right.
April 29, 2009 at 13:02 #224257The ill-devised idea of a subscription-only ‘Members Club’ seems to have been kicked into touch as you now don’t even have to log in to get access to all the news and full racecard bumf
Editorial and sundry chit-chat doesn’t interest me. Other than a cursory scanning of the news all I need from the RP are the SP forecasts and spotlights, to compare with my own ideas on a race.
April 29, 2009 at 16:34 #224309Must question their financial standing. Big money spent on re-engineering the website not recouped with subscription service. Possibility of printed revenues dipping if racecourse attendances go down.
One thing does annoy me – apart from the cr*p website! – I have sent them feedback and suggestions a few times and not had any acknowledgement. So will not bother now. One suggestion was to integrate any website subscription with printed channel, for example pay a monthly subscription and get vouchers for a certain number of papers free. So you are paying for the information and you choose whether you get it online or printed.
April 29, 2009 at 19:16 #224337They should scrap this 20p a race crap.

What 20p a race?
I watch re-runs on most days, and haven’t paid them a penny for months.April 30, 2009 at 01:05 #224441Myles,
They have online web forum’s on the RP site – It’s the second tab from the left on the window you see as the site opens.
You can watch re-runs of every race in the UK for up to 7 days. Racinguk website has replays that are free and on the site for 7 days. All of the at the races replays are available for free at any time.
The RP site, for free, is a very good site really in value terms. It’s unfortunate it’s slow and more awkward to use than it was. I prefer to size up races using the paper.
April 30, 2009 at 01:33 #224452If i type in a search for a horse, i then look to view it running a previous race from whenever, they say i need to top up and buy the race for 20p.

True GTD, but they have never actually taken any money since they screwed up the changeover to dotcom.
Try viewing just the closing stages of a race (for which the charge was always 10p on the old system) and you’ll get exactly the same "buy for 20p" quote, and nothing about any money being deducted from your account – no matter how often you use it.April 30, 2009 at 02:07 #224459This is something they should look at i feel. Being an RUK subscriber i find it annoying i am charged IF i watch a video. In truth i never buy them out of principle. i watch ruk replays, make any notes i need and if its a video i feel i need i will just snaff it from the ruk website and archive it on my external hdd.
April 30, 2009 at 10:53 #224489In fairness it has improved recently especially the speed, granted I dont use it for form study.
I would like to see a decent media package instead of the 20p per race. I’d pay about £15-20 per month for RUK online and full access to the video archive and website.

Says i’ll need to top up and wouldn’t let me see anything until i pay money. Needless to say they can shove that up their ass, along with the rest of their website.
