Any thoughts on this race.I like Fistral Beach
February 10, 2010 at 19:34 #275474I thought 3m, right-handed, flat track, so I thought Ellerslie George. Have ignored the Ascot run. £8 @ 48. I’m rather hoping there is still improvement to come from him going right-handed, instead of jumping right-handed on left-handed tracks, as he has done for most of his victories.

Nacarat
should follow up last year’s effortless success – he’s been trained for the race, loves the course, jumps at speed and is one of few front runners in the race.
Back down to a mark of 158, he has a massive chance.
February 11, 2010 at 13:40 #275598Crikey. Nacarat has been running like a demented goat all season.
Air Force One
Jaunty Flight
New Alcoall of interest, bit early yet though!
February 11, 2010 at 17:16 #275651Not sure you can call his run in the King George "like a demented goat".
He was the only one to even try to serve it up to Kauto. Had he been ridden for second he would have beaten the rest.
I’d rather have him than Air Force Dodgepot, that’s for sure….
February 11, 2010 at 17:47 #275655AF1 was injured in the KG after running a screamer around Madison and Big Bucks, although he’s more of a national type anyway (hint).
King George run was ok. Although everyone likes to slate Barbers Shop so am sure those same people can’t fancy Nacarat either off top-weight here
Meant to add is 9 weeks enough recovery time for Nac, was a hard hard race the KG…
February 11, 2010 at 18:36 #275666Gosh, Fistral Beach has only had three chase runs . . .
February 11, 2010 at 19:52 #275683Kilcrea Castle for me.
20/1 at the moment.
February 11, 2010 at 20:12 #275694I like the look of
Massinis Maguire
at 80 on the machine,Kemptons 3m is within his Stamina reserves and good ground would help his chances, off 10-10lb i hope he takes his chances,it would put him spot on for the Ryanair too!
Razor Royale
at 60 is another who would be well handicapped if he got in the race! I would like to see him run at Cheltenham too,in the William Hill Trophy!
February 11, 2010 at 21:17 #275708Fans of Air Force One can be well chuffed. Charlie Mann says this is the 14th time he has never had him any better.

Air Force one takes off and lands safely, thats where the comparisons end!
February 12, 2010 at 21:35 #275966What’s the chances of Madison Du Berlais running?
I don’t see too many well handicapped and progressive entries (maybe Possol). This has to be a target surely, in favourable conditions, now that Cheltenham can be safely ruled out.February 12, 2010 at 22:11 #275976What’s the chances of Madison Du Berlais running
Thats the million dollar question Shabby, if he does run, then its top weight for sure,no problem there though! His Kempton form reads incredibly well, when he beat an off colour Denman over C/D on gd/sft ground he clocked 6m 27secs,not a time you would fall off your seat over,he has since ran 2nd to Kauto Star in the King George, again over C/D where Kauto clocked 6m 7secs,Madison clocking 6m 17secs on gd/sft ground again! He has the beating of Nacarat on King George running, but i would give Nacarat a bigger chance on genuinely good ground as he has clocked 6m 4 secs in last years Racing Post Trophy on good ground! 26 is available for the risk takers on Madison!
February 12, 2010 at 23:30 #275990Fair Along off 151 seems a fair mark considering his hurdling mark providing he puts it all in back over fences.
February 13, 2010 at 13:40 #276083Ellerslie George will run them silly. I really like his chances here and at Aintree in April…
February 13, 2010 at 17:30 #276253Darren, I’ve only just realised that Fistral Beach is near the bottom of the entries. If the race is over-subscribed (like it was like year), then he is unlikely to get in. That’s okay if the connections persist, and you’re balloted out, as you’ll get your money back.
February 18, 2010 at 21:36 #277698Kilcrea Castle being heavily backed. Glad we’re on big for the National.
