Privileged inside information is hiddenâ€â€Â
December 1, 2006 at 19:08 #32358Alan,
I have been involved in betting, both as a punter and bookmaker, for about forty-five years and I have never heard of such a thing as the betting code.
In fairness, despite my scepticism, I shall have to have a look at your book in its e version before making any other comments.
December 1, 2006 at 19:13 #32359Admin message –
By word of explanation, Alan approached me before posting the above topic for fear of breaching the forum’s rules or protocol. After reviewing what Alan had to say and having a look at the basis of his book I decided that it was just the type of challenging item the forum thrives on.
Alan offered to provide free copies of the book and I thought it prudent for members to provide me, rather than Alan, with those requests in order to ensure email address confidentiality. Alan will provide me with the pdf and I will forward to interested members. Anyone specifically wanting to contact Alan directly themselves can do so via the PM facility should they so wish.
I’m intrigued and, as I said to Alan, he may well be totally barmy or he may actually be onto something!
YOU DECIDE.

December 1, 2006 at 19:13 #32360Is there a whiff of tinned meat in the air?
December 1, 2006 at 19:28 #32361OK, I’ll go for "barmy"
<br>I’ve seen the Da Vinci Code, I know of the Green Cross Code and also the Highway Code but never seen or heard of The Betting Code :)

December 1, 2006 at 19:30 #32362Smells more like haggis to me:cool:
December 1, 2006 at 19:55 #32363Fair enough, Cormack.
December 1, 2006 at 20:24 #32364Looks feels and smells like processed tinned meat ro me.
Like Atremis, been long enough in this game as bookmaker and punter and never come across anythng remotely like this. Would like to read it as an exercise in alternative marketing but would never consider paying for it.
Cormack, I hope you decision to allow this is works out but it aint what I think TRF stands for.

December 1, 2006 at 21:06 #32365I guess it ain’t very well hidden any more then ;)<br>Nonetheless, thank you for the e-book. I’ll take a look.<br>Thanks.
December 1, 2006 at 21:42 #32366Oh, classic stuff!!! I’d love to get my hands on a copy of this!! Being a bookmaker I’d be intrigued to know more about this so-called code – maybe I’ve been contributing to it unknowingly? :o

"Proof of winning foreknowledge secretly <br>Hidden inside bookmakers’ betting odds"
Proof is a pretty strong word, where is the evidence to support it???<br> In my experience of bookmakers, large and small, they have less of a clue about the outcome of a race than most reasonable form students.<br> The few who are sharp enough usually turn to punting themselves; the others, sometimes, write books.:)
December 2, 2006 at 10:12 #32368It’s not that long ago when some bookmakers were shown to have offered ‘no lose’ accounts with some trainers. Why would they do this?<br>Anyone here been offered this marvellous arrangement?
December 2, 2006 at 10:47 #32369…in a very one-sided betting marketplace how does an investigative author best disclose racing inside information strategy to the punting consumer in order to achieve a long overdue betting marketplace realignment?
You know, I simply haven’t the faintest.
Is it with a five-iron?

December 2, 2006 at 10:48 #32370Hi
there is a world of difference between a on and off course bookmaker.
Underhand sounds about par for the course.

Now then Mike, is there a teensy-weensy chance you aren’t taking this seriously?

December 2, 2006 at 12:03 #32372Well, I was trying to be polite but I agree totally with tdk!!
December 2, 2006 at 12:10 #32373Sounds like one of the army of betting shop regulars talking through their (extremely empty) pockets to me; the self-satisfying rantings of a delusional, clueless, failed gambler.
Complete and utter drivel.
