I am travelling to Moscow in the near future and would be very grateful if anybody has any information on thoroughbred racing in or around Moscow.I have been reliably informed that racing does take place in Russia but have struggled to find any racecourse details or fixture information.
October 8, 2006 at 13:10 #79056Moscow Hippodrome has been revitalised and now races nearly every weekend, although it is mainly trotting.
It’s bang in the city and is meant to be much improved from the dodgy looking place I visited in the 90s.
The website is http://www.cmh.ru (Central Moscow Hippodrome), but it is in Russian.
The calendar lists racing for the 15th and 29th of October, 12th November and the 10th of December.
Adrian may be able to help you more – but I can try to answer any qs.
October 8, 2006 at 13:21 #79057Paul Cole ran Fine Silver out there last year, I believe the track was called Kazan but I wouldn’t have a clue where it is. That horse is owned by Miss Alfiya Shaykhutdinova (i cut and pasted that:biggrin: ), who also has a couple of promising juveniles with the yard including Thunder Storm Cat.
