I note that over the last few days the free replays of RUK tracks on the channel 4 website have disappeared. Does anyone know if this is a permanent course of action? I dont really want to be paying 20p per race on the Racingpost website just to see how bad my midweek lucky 15 selections ran.
January 27, 2009 at 10:01 #206714You can watch the past week’s replays for free on the RUK website (you just have to register with them).
They’re also in the process of putting the video archive on the RUK website too, dunno if this will be free for subscribers though.

When you say free does that include non subsribers? If it does i can’t believe i didn’t know about it earlier!!

I did register sometime back and everytime I try to play a video a message
comes up saying:
"we are unable to issue a licence to view this content for the following reasons: This account does not allow access to this content"So I have presumed that you have to subscribe to their online service at a cost to view pictures?
Firefox, it is probably be because you are using ‘Firefox’.
Try using Internet Explorer, and it will be playable.
January 27, 2009 at 18:43 #206744Thanks guys, I will try registering with the Racing Uk website and see how I get on. Thankfully all todays action is ATR based!
With reference to Firefox’s point of Racing UK initially being subscribed due to no advsertising, I was unaware of this. Thing is, I dont mind the advertisements on ATR seeing as its free. And as I only watch the actual race itself (not the build up and idle studio chat). Once adverts start interrupting the 3m handicap chase from Folkestone then I may change my mind about adverts on ATR!!!

Yes, it is free for non-subscribers.
Was pleased to stumble across it a couple of weeks ago.
January 27, 2009 at 20:24 #206761sorry if this sounds rather stupid, but how do I ‘register’ without ‘subscribing’? Is there a difference?
As with a few others I was a bit surprised to find the C4 replays disappear on about Thursday or Friday of last week.
January 27, 2009 at 21:18 #206763IMO all RUK subscribers should get FREE online replays dating back to when they took out a sub or even going back to when the channel began.
Luckily I’ve got it on video but just as an example, it’s not right that I would have to pay 20p everytime I want to watch the legendary Tingle Creek with Moscow Flyer/Azerty/Well Chief.

I’ve just done it – Click on the video link and you can then fill out a form which does not require subscription. The video link did not work on my work computer but this happens a lot anyway.. If it does work this is a god send for those friday/sunday meetings which are on RUK which I always miss.. Particularly newbury and cheltenham at this time of year.

If you have trouble with slow feed on RUK replays, pause the video for a minute or two on start up. This allows it to buffer the video, and it should then play without a break. The broadband speed here at home can be slow, so I often have to do this if I want to watch the replays during the evening.

January 28, 2009 at 02:23 #206832Cheers for the help guys, I have registered with RUK and, despite the sute looking really slow it does give me access to the video replays.
January 28, 2009 at 03:55 #206851On a slight different issue. Has anyone been watching the Previews/Reviews on the RP website (RP Television I think they call it)?
To catch up on a days racing the reviews seem ok to me (thinking about it now I assume they only show RUK races…I could go and check but I can’t be bothered.)
Some the previews are quite interesting too if you like that sort of thing.
