Kept our head above water yesterday, whilst todays racing is more interesting it`s difficult to locate serious betting opportunities,however:-

    Carlisle 2.30

This in my opinion comes down to two horses, BENNY THE PILER and TOP DRESSING, both are chasing types who should improve on their hurdles showing, BENNY has the benefit of experience, a decent third to the useful Patman du Charmil at Perth two weeks ago should have cleared away any cobwebs , he ran particular well considering a sharp 2.5 miles wouldn`t have played to his stregnths,Brian Harding gave him a nice quiet introduction and he should derive benefit from that today, It`s worth noting that Carlise is a very differant test to Perth, the track is amongst the stiffest in the country so to compete over 2.5 miles you need a potential three miler unlike at Perth where a two miler can get the 2.5 , BENNY is a thorough stayer so despite the going being a tad faster than ideal he`s the one to beat, TOP DRESSING comes from a stable i like and one that`s in reasonable form, having some STRONG GALE in his bloodlines i expect the fastish ground will be within his capabilities, Fitness is unlikely to be a factor but freshness could be, TOP DRESSING tends to race a bit keen and that could be his h`cap on his re-appearance, the downhill part of the track could trigger him off and with all things considered he`s likely to be “looked after“ , SUPPLY AND FIX ran above himself at Sedgefield, his girlie jockey is worth her claim and he`s certainly fit and capable of handling the going, the downside is his ability to handle the stiffer track and these real fences, afterall,he`s hardly a chasing type and he lacks any real scope,WHISTLE BLOWING should strip fitter today, however, i can`t see him having the scope to progress over fences , this 100 rated hurdler will need too if he`s going to win a race like this,i should imagine connections will be racing with an h`cap mark in mind, the 1 from 48 KINGS ENVOY should be outclassed by the principals!

Suggestion BENNY THE PILER 3,2 Betfair or 3,0 with the Bookies

On the same card 3.00 PAULS PLAIN (2,32 BF) should have it easy against an exposed bunch, Richard Johnson is making the long trip to take the ride, over at York i quite like the look of ZAAHID 4,6 BF in the 3.15 race, he won despite a poor ride lto and the fav AMARNA could struggle on the ground.

    Good luck
