What would happen in a stewards enquirey if:
Three horses came to the last fence together, Two of which are owned by the same person, with the other horse going the best of the three.
However, one of the stable companions "runs down the fence", drifing accross it’s rival and effectively taking out the other horse. Leaving the stable companion to go on to win.
It is only natural for a horse to drift one side or the other to put himself right. No doubt the jockey gets a holiday for allowing it to do so, but is impossible to say it was deliberate or not.
I presume the winner keeps the race under the current rules of racing?
If so, do you think there should be a change in the rules?
Possible change something like:
If an owner companion causes inteference (whether deliberate or not) which stops a rival from winning, enabling an owner companion to win. Then the winner is disqualified.Mark
Value Is EverythingJanuary 18, 2009 at 00:42 #204779Is this thread started by an actual race? The one at Haydock involving Glaskers Mill, the other one (old and amnesiac, so always get Cloudy Lane and Snowy Morning mixed up), and Opera Mundi?

Gerald
It did not happen in the race but it was the one that got me thinking Gerald.

No, did not have anyone in mind for that one Gerald, it was inspired by a question on Betfair Strategy. Some good stuff on there, take a look.
