Captain Cee Bee’s my banker of the meeting today to atone for Cheltenham. I couldnt believe my eyes when I seen 4/1 on offer this morning.
He’ll look like a 100/1 shot if he bursts…
I think he’s an aeroplane though and if all goes well I feel he’ll hack up.
What is the consensus with that? Is it a very regularly reccuring injury once sustained? I do feel that the risk is factored into the price, and that if he had never ran at cheltenham he would be odds on.

Maybe the increase in trip will suit Quevega better than the drop back to 2 miles would have but here running today still speaks volumes about the chances of Hurrican Fly tomorrow IMO.
I’ll have
Quevega and Captain Cee Bee
the former I still believe will turn out to be the best 2m chaser around next season.
April 22, 2010 at 16:42 #291735Quevega is one of the Greatest National Hunt Mares.
She routed that field
April 22, 2010 at 16:44 #291736Quevega won well but what an excellent run from Bensalem too.
April 22, 2010 at 16:52 #291737Very classy mare.
Will be interesting to see where she is placed next season.
Fantastic run from Bensalem, just what he needed.

I can’t agree more, that was very impressive, I’d have her against Big Bucks any day

She’ll be more of a challenge than anything he’s taken on in the past and may wipe that smile off your face

Anyway the worlds on drugs: 9/2 about Captain Cee Bee

So don't run, just like the others always do
April 22, 2010 at 18:06 #291752Just great to know that my confidence behind Captain Cee Bee wasn’t unfounded. The Arkle really did break my heart at Cheltenham. More than made up for it today.
Looking like an incredibly strong challenge coming from Ireland in the 2m division next year. I’d have this lad as the pick of the bunch
April 22, 2010 at 18:10 #291754I backed Quevega, she needs more than 2m, she can hold her own at 2m but she came up short to Punjabi and Solwhit and Mullins says to beat the best at 2m she would need it soft to win a race like that so she would lack the ability of a top 2 miler, the World Hurdle is the obvious target and with Quevega and Zaynar going 3m next season Big Bucks should finally have some decent competition lets face it the the 3m horses he has faced this season are a poor bunch but he will be tested by these two.
CCB is one of my favourite horses in training, he looked an absoloute picture today, he was lucky to avoid the big falls cause he was being held up where the trouble happened but McCoy did well to avoid it any closer he may have been involved, once he got his head in front never looked to be any danger, a real class act and I stil think he is the best 2m novice out there, the Arkle was a mere blip imo, but I’d worry about him with those Railway fences aat Sandown however, also hope Barry Geraghty is ok didn’t look good he had to be carried away and taken to hospital.
Adrian Maguire after the race by the way was pretty angry with how the course has been over watered.

unbelievable!! was like all my Xmas’s came at one time. After the 4/1, 3/1 and 5/2 from this year, it will take a while squire

I’d do the whole form run-down thing I usually do to supposed "threats" but can’t be arshed

Cee Bee did it well enough, although the price reflected the chance he would fail to fire (again). So not the greatest pre-race confidence I’d have thought.

In answer to your question I had a very big ew on Arabella Boy and very small bets elsewhere hence the single place money covering the yankee.Today as I posted I had only two big (EW) bets, Quevega 3-1 (thanks to those members who convinced me she was a superstar) and Freenys Well 7-1 and an EW double so that puts the meeting slightly in the black, the mare, God bless her, having covered my original main yankee bet too
The meeting could still go ar*e up though if Dunguib was to be unplaced for instance.
In that event I’m ready to dig deep on an ew trixie Luska Lad, Garde Champetre and For Bill, if Dunguib wins I’ll probably sit tight apart from a single on Luska Lad.Meanwhile I think I’ll have to cover on Voler La Vadette
April 22, 2010 at 21:26 #291810I wonder if some on here still feel Sizing Peckham is better than Captain Cee Bee?
Zip
April 22, 2010 at 21:28 #291811Yeah, that race Cee Bee won was top notch

lmao

Well lets go on a line through Osana who always seems to run his race. Beaten 6 or so lenghts by Sizing at xmas with CCB falling while cantering. Beaten a similar distance by Sizing at Cheltenham. Well beaten by CCB today.
It all points to CCB being the best and running under par in the Arkle. Now if only we had a reason for that….*cough* broken blood vessel *cough*.
Laugh your arse off all you want, I know who i’ll be siding with next year. The beast who once gave our reigning champion hurdler 8lb and a beating on unsuitable ground.
