Blizzard of Oz short enough but can’t see anything to him on with
Blackbeard to conquer the World
May 1, 2024 at 15:08 #1692415Romeo Coolio 11-2 i’ll have a go at each way. The fav is 6-5 and not much between them at Cheltenham. Different track and ground today so you never know.
May 1, 2024 at 15:43 #1692418More than a few dangers in there for me.
Laying Jasmin De VauxBlackbeard to conquer the World
May 1, 2024 at 16:42 #1692423Couldn’t see anything today but I’m very tempted to take on Teahupoo on Thursday in the Stayers Hurdle. I think the main rationale is he got beat there last year after Cheltenham, might just be a good horse when he’s fresh/after a break. I don’t really rate any of the next few in the betting behind him but I do think Langtry Lady may improve for this trip and she doesn’t need to improve much to get involved anyway at the weights and she’s a big price. Maybe she needs the ground bottomless, maybe she’ll be fine on yielding with the extra emphasis on stamina coming from the distance. Worth a play to find out.
May 1, 2024 at 16:48 #1692424Capodanno is 50s with b365 for the big race so perhaps a leg has fallen off; and getting weight in a moderate Cotswold is a far cry from this; and an unpunted JP horse is a waste of money…but…
he likes a bit of better ground and this test should suit better than the National, where he didn’t get a hard race according to stable preview. Had to have a bit on ew considering I liked him as novice chaser…I know that “I’d absolutely puke if he somehow won at that price and I wasn’t on” is a silly reason to bet..but I would, so I am.May 1, 2024 at 17:00 #1692425Well done GM23,pleased for you, anyone else on Redemption Day and Jody Townend as she’s a really good rider but OTOH- meh. Maybe the horse will prove me wrong, stay sound and win all round itself over hurdles including the Royal Bond and be considered a proper graded NH horse in which case I will eat humble pie, but otherwise- meh.

May 1, 2024 at 17:34 #1692428Well deserved, can’t believe I ever thought that horse was too small/slow/underpowered to be a proper G1 horse. He is some jumper. Well done anyone on.
May 1, 2024 at 17:35 #1692429“I’m very tempted to take on Teahupoo on Thursday in the Stayers Hurdle.”
He got badly outpaced in the race last year
Can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m contemplating backing asterion forlonge against him
May 1, 2024 at 17:43 #1692431Great win; such a slick jumper. Perhaps proximity of the rest of the field suggests GDC didn’t run up to form
May 1, 2024 at 18:45 #1692432Decent ground seems to catch him out , tapped for speed again , as a Fastorslow fan it was a great result , worried about that poor run from Corach , i wonder if that GC run has emptied him ..
May 1, 2024 at 18:51 #1692433I didn’t think Galopin was ever really travelling like a winner to be honest, he looked beat by further than he was jumping the 2nd last I think it was, stayed on well enough. Maybe a long season taken its toll, he did get beat here last season too. Shouldn’t take too much away from the winner though, always looked to be holding him at the line and he’s a 3x G1 winner in his own right now. Gut instinct when they were all in a line close home was they’ve probably not gone very fast, particularly as Conflated took the scenic route round but was still always in front, if something wanted to go faster I’m sure they would have.
May 1, 2024 at 20:15 #1692439No excuses in my opinion Fastorslow has won that comfortably.
The things I want most in life are the things that I can't win.
May 1, 2024 at 20:18 #1692440Certainly not the best Galopin des Champs today. I still like that they just went for it. And more and more it seems that he needs a bit of cut in the ground. He will be taken on in we get a dry Cheltenham next year.
May 1, 2024 at 22:06 #1692446Galopin ran a blinder today, considering how busy he has been, he could easily have cried enough and dropped away. Fastorslow has become a bit of a Punchestown specialist. GDC the one they all have to beat at Cheltenham still over 3 miles 2 and a half furlongs and uphill finish.
May 1, 2024 at 22:14 #1692447Small stakes tomorrow
Sign From Above 66-1 ew 6pl
Blood Destiny 9-4 win
Uncle Phil 16-1 ew 5pl
Three by Two 33-1 ew 4pl
Subset 100-1 ew 4pl
Home by the Lee 7-1 ew
Franciscan Rock 80-1 ew
Da Capo Glory 25-1 ewMay 1, 2024 at 23:24 #1692448Had a decent first two days, im wary of it being 3, slightly stitious not quite superstitious,
But you have to be laying teahupoo, at odds on, HBTL or monkfish should win
Have to be laying coko in the xc at 2.2-2.5, far too short, plenty in there
Id be with blood destiny in the handicap chase
Timeless piece @50/1 e/w in the opener
Anna bunina at 18s later in the card
And probably the best of the paddy mullins bumper chances of the week in port joulain, who, i wont be laying, could be backing, if the price holds, wouldnt be surprised if he went odds on,
Also, no ones actually surprised GDC got beaten? The gold cup trip and track hes unbeatable on at his best, absolutely unbeatable, arguably ever (not aftertiming this ive said it multiple times the last few months in here) FOS will beat him everytime round a right handed good ground tight track, will get obliterated in the gold cup though
Side note, F2F, short priced behind GDC for next years GC, really? Based off what, ive started laying that and ill continue to do that until they meet, F2F wont be winning a gold cup anytime soon, give your heads a wobble. Sheesh.
Good luck ladies and gents
