Reminds me a little of Shawanda.
September 14, 2008 at 16:01 #180909Will she be an Divine Proportions or a Pebbles?
September 14, 2008 at 16:38 #180924Don’t know how long this will last but here’s the link

I can’t be the only one worried that she won’t come out the stalls on Arc day.
September 14, 2008 at 19:48 #180967Superb performance. She travelled so beautifully and Dar rei me is a pretty worthwhile benchmark
If that was a pipeopener….
Too short for me to back in the Arc at this juncture though
September 14, 2008 at 19:59 #180973zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz bet against her at your peril!!!!
September 14, 2008 at 20:26 #180983Anyone got the respective times for all today’s races over 1m4f? The Rp says her time was a record for the race. Considering the start she gave them thats impressive.
If it doesn’t rain she will win. If it does…. mmm

From memory I think Zarkava ran 2mins 24 with Vision D’Etat running 1.4seconds slower.
Dont take that as gospel though as I didnt write it down as ATR gave it out but Zarkavas was definitely over a second faster
September 14, 2008 at 20:46 #180990According to Zeturf website:
Zarkava 2.26.0
Vision D’Etat 2.27.4
Zambezi Sun 2.28.8September 14, 2008 at 21:22 #180999If anyone wants to do any analysis on French race times, I suggest that they take their own hand times. Official times aren’t worth the paper they are printed on.

How many French races do you hand time per week?
September 15, 2008 at 02:01 #181027I was sweating, heart-thumping just watching the race with half a mile remaining – the video I watched was labelled that Zarkava had won and I was just wondering how it could be possible?
Just watching the post-race trot as Zarkava returned to scale – she wants more. She is eager for more. She’s not fatigued, still appeared quite fresh and bouncy. That’s the scary proposition SoF and co. have to face.
September 21, 2008 at 01:24 #181796The most informative parts of the race for me ws the first 200 yds and 100 yds past the post. She absolutely slept in the stalls but there wasn’t a hint of panic from her jockey.
When she did come out the stall he setttled her immediatly and the fact she was giving everything else a good start you could see clearly he didn’t give a hoot.
How far he was behind the leader turning for home is hard to say exactly but she was so far back you had to wonder when he was going to press the button.
Again without a sign of panic he changed hands took hold and she immediately changed gear took off and passed everything so so easily.
The fact her jockey wasn’t just happy he was exctatic probably because she got the trip really well and he knew she wasn’t 100% fit…..he must be really looking forward to the Arc now.
The great thing about Zarkava is she can come from a long way back and has so much pace can go round other horses rather than through them. In other words she doesn’t have to be covered up to be settled so there should be little chance of her meeting with interference, the one thing that could prevent her winning.
If he rides her the same way in the Arc I simply can’t see her losing.
